Soon after the release of Aran, Mohanlal pointed fingers at producer R B Choudhary for using a dubbed voice for him in Tamil without his knowledge and also adding few more scenes featuring Jeeva. Jeeva, who acted as Mohanlal's buddy in the film directed by Major Ravi, said, "Using a dubbing voice for Mohanlal was nothing intentional. Since he was shooting for a movie abroad, we had to use a dubbing voice for Mohanlal in the Tamil version. Had we waited for Mohanlal to return, the movie's release would have been delayed by a few more months". Also on the charge that Jeeva's role was made meatier in Tamil, Jeeva said, "We added up few scenes in Tamil only with a view to appeal to the Tamil audience. Since I am more familiar to Tamil audience, a few scenes were added. Again it was nothing intentional and targeted at hurting Mohanlal's sentiments. Jeeva felt dismayed at Mohanlal's outbursts.
Jeeva gets Kamals backing
After lending his voice for the opening sequences in Jeeva starrer Aran, Kamal Haasan will now sing a song for Jeeva in his forthcoming film. Following the decent opening of Aran, Jeeva is on to his new movie Thamizh MA. The shooting for the movie will kick off soon. Meanwhile Jeeva has requested Kamal Haasan to sing a song for him in the movie and the latter has accepted his request gleefully. Says Jeeva of Kamal: 'Though he has achieved a lot in the industry, he is still very modest. He is a great role model for youngsters like us in the industry'. Jeeva is happy now for he has E directed by Jananathan ready for release followed by Pori starring Pooja opposite him. Post Aran, Jeeva is getting offers to act in Malayalam movies. However he is keen on establishing his career in Tamil before venturing to do films in other languages'.
Jeeva reaching towards the top
Jeeva has offers pouring one after another, as he is believed to be the next big thing in Tamil. The actor currently has E, Pori followed by Thamizh MA under-production. Beginning next year, he is tipped to play the lead role in a movie to be produced by Ameer and directed by V A Durai. Meanwhile, Jeeva has accepted to act in a movie to be directed by a debutant V V Kathir. The newcomer has worked as associate to director Suryaprakash, who directed Sarath Kumar starrer Mayee before. The movie has been tentatively titled Thenavattu (meaning arrogance). Search is on for the rest of the star cast. Jeeva has the knack of picking up the right script and storyline. Post Ram, his career has taken an upward swing and he has also smartly followed with successes like Dishoom and Aran. The Malayalam version of Aran has made it big in Kerala and Jeeva has a good fan following in neighboring Kerala too now. It all looks like that this smart young man is set for a big run.
Jeeva is poised
Jeeva is confident that his E would make it big this Deepavali. Produced by R B Choudhary, the movie directed by Jhananathan is set for release for Deepavali. Speaking about the film, Jeeva, says, 'It is the short form of Eswaran, my character in the film. Nayantra is the heroine. It is not an out-an-out sci-fi film but dwells on bio-war and bio-terrorism. The movie is padded with enough local flavor for the masses to identify the character. I play a local crook from the slum in the film'. Jeeva is also very confident of Jhananathan's approach. 'I was impressed with Jhananathan's Iyarkai, which was a well-narrated serious romantic film. His narration of E moved me. His matured way of handling every character in the film and faith in his script amazed me. I deem it fortunate to be part of a National award winner's film. As my role was complicated the director sat with me to detail the script and outline the character. In a friendly ambience, shooting during the heavy floods last year was an experience itself.' Post E, Jeeva is shooting for Pori. He would soon commence his next Thamizh MA. Says Jeeva, 'I am keen on doing versatile roles. I choose them with caution. Doing different roles would help me stay for long in the industry'.
Jeeva and team on a happy tour
The cast and crew of Jeeva starrer E have been touring almost all towns in Tamil Nadu as a promotional drive. The team led by Jeeva comprising director Jananathan, cinematographer Ekambaram and comedian Karunaas have been making special appearance in various theatres where the movie is being screened. The five-day promotional tour commenced recently. The crew interacted with fans and explained the concept behind the movie. Jananathan directed E starring Jeeva and Nayantra produced by Super Good Films. The film is based on bio-war. Speaking to MusicMazaa from Erode on Monday, where Jeeva appeared in a theatre, said, 'The response has been amazing. Audience appreciate the movie which gives the whole crew great satisfaction'. Said Jananathan, 'We have covered various towns in the State and everywhere people have been appreciative of the movie's content. Interestingly, the monsoon rains and the cricket fever has not dampened the movie's good show'. E is certainly a fresh and novel venture. And Jeeva deserves special mention for taking up a role that defies conventional notions of herohood. It confirmed that Jeeva, among the heroes, was certainly to take any risk for the sake of his character in the film.
Jeeva confident of Poris success
After a success in E, Jeeva is hopeful that Pori would make it big among the audience. 'Unlike E, which dealt on a serious subject, my Pori would be a typical commercial entertainer sure to entertain the film-buffs,' he said. Pori, directed by Thiruda Thirudi fame Subramanya Siva, features Pooja opposite Jeeva. The shooting commenced six months ago. 'After Thiruda Thirudi, I wanted to come out with a commercial entertainer. Pori would be a different movie which would be entertaining all through,' he said. Echoing the same, Pooja said, 'The director extracted a lot of work from me. I have more scope to act in the movie. There are a couple of peppy numbers and to dance for them was a big challenge. They have all come out well. I am hopeful that the movie will become a big hit.' Jeeva, on his part, said, 'After E, I wanted a light film. Pori has comedy and action in the right mix. It is a movie which would take me closer to the front-benchers.'
