Mammootty-Nayantara's Puthiya Niyamam Postponed

Mammootty-Nayantara starrer upcoming social thriller Puthiya Niyamam has been postponed to January 2016. The movie, which is written and directed by AK Sajan, was initially slated to release on December 24th, Thursday. The crew is yet to reveal the reason behind the sudden change in the release date. According to the sources, the team decided to postpone the release, as the post-production works are yet to be finished. The actual release date will be announced soon. It has also been rumoured that Puthiya Niyamam is postponed, as the team wants to avoid the box office clash between Puthiya Niyamam and Dulquer Salmaan's Charlie. But the reports are not confirmed yet. Puthiya Niyamam revolves around the intercaste couple, Adv Louis Pothan and Vasuki Iyer. Louis, who belongs to an orthodox Christian background, is a strong believer of communist ideologies. He is also a film critic and social activist. Vasuki is a Kathakali artist, who is from a traditional Brahmin family. The movie will also have Baby Ananya, Aju Varghese, Jayaraj Warrier, Vinay Forrt, Rachana Narayanankutty, Sheelu Abraham, etc in the supporting roles.

New edition of 'Puthiya Vaarppugal'

'Puthiya Vaarppugal' (1979), which became a powerful launch pad for K. Bhagyaraj, is being remade. The remake bug has bitten the filmmaker who is hailed for his perfect screenplay. He had written the dialogues and donned the lead role of the original film, which was critically acclaimed. The film went on to create a new trend of sorts. Bhagyaraj, who has been contemplating his comeback into the films for sometime now, is ready to remake 'Puthiya Vaarppuga'l. He has also puts his son Shantanu on the lead role. He is going to give the film a new treatment to fit into today's taste. It is worth recalling that Shanthanu's debutant film 'Sakkarakatti' is almost completed and will be released soon. The movie also marks the entry of director Prabhu, son of Kalaipuli Thanu. The movie is an A.R. Rahman musical. Bhagyaraj is quite confident with the new edition of his 'Puthiya Vaarppugal'. He firmly believes that the film would mark his comeback and help his son to get established as an actor.

Bhagyaraj's second innings with Puthiya Varpugal

Actor Bhagyaraj has almost completed shooting for his next directorial venture 'Puthiya Varpugal'. Starring his son Santhanoo in the lead role, the movie went to floors a couple of months ago. The film is produced by Mosebaer Entertainment. Santhanoo, who is eagerly, awaiting the release of his maiden venture 'Sakkarakatti', plays a happy-go-lucky-youngster in the movie. Sources close to Bhagyaraj say, 'the movie's title is inspired by Bhagyaraj's yesteryear hit film. However it is not its remake.' Major portions of the film have been shot and song sequences are yet to be canned. Dharan has scored the music. 'Santhanoo has played his part well and he hopefully emerges as a star to reckon with in future', they added. Bhagyaraj's last directorial venture was 'Parijatham', which features Prithviraj and his daughter Saranya in the lead roles.

'Pudhiya Payanam' : A tale of one boy and two girls

Director M. T. Muthu has come up with a story titled 'Pudhiya Payanam' which talks about a poor boy's association with two girls. Mohammed Rabi of Vairam movies is producing the film. Seeing the troubled marriage of her sister, the heroine of the film starts hating the very institution of marriage. But then every girl falls in love and attitudes change. With her newfound love for a poor boy she gets determined to make sure he amounts to something in the eyes of the society. Her love and affection inspire the boy to achieve great things. Just when you think everything is going to be fine, in comes the heroine's friend from abroad and the boy's affection is turned her way. A great deal of human emotions is expected to be part of the fundamental plot of the film. The heroine of the film 'Maa Madurai' Mithuna and Jennifer play the female roles, while the director himself plays the protagonist. Others in the cast include Manorama, Delhi Ganesh, Charlie, Chetan, Devadarshini, and Aarthi. Filming is going on right now.
