Popular designer Ramesh Varma of 'Oka Voorilo'' fame had prepared a beautiful love story and is planning a new film very soon. For that, he got a title registered in the Film Chamber, which reads as 'Sri Sri'. Ramesh Varma says, 'It is a love story that runs between 'Sri'Valli and 'Sri'nivas. So, I gave the title as Sri Sri. We have selected Genelia as the heroine and are yet to decide on the hero. We earlier planned to rope in Ram of 'Ready'-fame. But he became busy with MS Raju's venture. So we are looking another suitable boy.' It may be mentioned here that Ramesh Varma had earlier prepared a subject with the title 'Mallepuvvu' and gave it to his friend V Samudra on the latter's request.
Sri Sri Dialogues Are Not A Mistake : Varun Tej
"Kanche" got unanimous positive response from all circles, but the film has its own share of flaws. While the film is set in World War II backdrop in 1940s, how come they have quoted Sri Sri's quotes that were published in 1950? Inside the film, Dasu, played by Srinivas Avasarala, always mentions some quotes written by Srinivasa Rao who will be understood as Sri Sri by anyone. The allegation is that, when Sri Sri released those prose and poetry in 1950 as "Maha Prastanam" book, how come a film set in 1940 backdrop will reprise them. "Dasu is a friend of Kompella Janardhan Rao a very close friend of Sri Sri garu. Director Krish wouldn't make such a mistake", says Varun Tej. For that reason, Dasu character in the film never addresses him as 'Sri Sri' but only as Srinivasa Rao. Probably no other Telugu director would have thought to such extent while making a Telugu movie, and we have to appreciate Krish in that context.
Sri Lalitha Kalanjali Productions plans 'Sri Sri Sri Valli Srinivas'
Super Good Films is known for the best-ever family subjects. Almost all the artistes and technicians dream to play some role in that banner. Vakada Appa Rao, is the executive producer for all the films that were produced on the banner since its inception. Now, he turned a producer with the blessings of RB Choudary of Super Good Films and launched a banner called 'Sri Lalitha Kalanjali Productions'. As the first-ever venture on the banner, he had produced 'Maharathi' with Balakrishna in the lead and it is slated for release on January 11. Now, Vakada Appa Rao is making efforts to start his next venture on the banner and also registered a title 'Sri Sri Sri Valli Srinivas'. It is reliably learnt that noted poster designer Ramesh Varma is likely to wield the megaphone for this film.
Devi Sri Prasad's hopes
As we have repeatedly said, this is a season big audio releases. As film releases get delayed due to exams, audio launches are keeping everyone involved. After Veerabhadra, Pokiri, Ashok and other biggies, the one that will also have its audio release in March is Pournami. The musical fun film of MS Raju is one of the big films of the season (after all, you don't get any producer more successful than M S Raju in recent times). His films have been always musical successes (Okkadu, Varsham, NVNV). Devi Sri Prasad, who is on a low profile, is hoping for a big splash through Pournami. More than anyone else, he needs this one very badly. Pournami stars Prabhas, Trisha, Charmi, Madhu Sharma and is directed by Prabhu Deva.
Devotional 'Sri Ramadasu' biggest Telugu draw
The devotional film "Sri Ramadasu" starring Nagarjuna is drawing huge crowds in theatres across the state. The top five Telugu films are: 1. "Sri Ramadasu" - Veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao shows how to hold the audiences with a gripping screenplay. M.M. Keeravani's music has enhanced the film's appeal manifold. 2. "Ranam" - Action hero Gopichand joins the big league with the film. Despite playing a light-hearted hero, in contrast to his intense roles, he has made the film a winner. 3. "Laxmi" - After comfortably crossing the 50-day mark, the film faces a challenge from new releases. Director Vinayak has made a contrived plot work at the box office. 4. "Ram" - Nitin's youth-oriented film has had a better opening than his previous releases. Hit pair Nitin and Genelia look good together. Besides entertaining the audience, director Shankar's film carries a message as well. 5. "Devadasu" - Filmmaker Y.V.S. Choudury's teenage romance is gradually improving its box-office performance. The film launched actress Illeana in a big way.
