First look of 'Welcome Back' out

The first look of filmmaker Anees Bazmee's “Welcome Back”, a sequel to his 2007 comedy film “Welcome”, was introduced by Eros Now, the online on-demand entertainment portal from Eros International on Sunday on its social media page. Although Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, who had starred in the first part of the franchise will not reprise their roles in “Welcome Back”, the film still includes a huge line-up starting from Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal returning with their respective roles. Among the new actors joining the cast are John Abraham, Naseeruddin Shah, Shruti Haasan and Dimple Kapadia. The first look of the film was launched in a unique style by introducing every actor with their respective role. While the names of the characters being played by all the actors have been mentioned in their introduction, the character essayed by Shruti has been left a mystery. John, who looks dapper in a white suit along with a gun in his hand, shared the official poster of the film on Twitter. “First Look #WelcomeBack @ErosNow,” he captioned the photograph. Anil, who is returning with his role of Majnu Bhai, too shared the first look on the micro-blogging site and tweeted: “#WelcomeBack...naam toh suna hoga...miss toh kiya hoga!”.. “Welcome Back” is slated to release on September 4. The trailer of the film will release on Monday.

Bollywood's biggest comedy since Welcome Back

The last time a film managed to make audience laugh in a big way, it was way back in September last year when Welcome Back hit the screens. The film was a bumper success and almost touched the 100 crore mark. Though there have been good comic successes like 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2' and to an extent Singh Is Bliing in the interim period, Bollywood has been missing its comedies. Well, that's happening now with 'Housefull 3' which is Bollywood's biggest comedy to arrive in a really long time. "As a matter it is one of the very few franchise affairs in the comic genre that is continuing to do well, the other being Golmaal series which has seen three hit installments," an industry expert comments, "While Housefull was a hit, Housefull 2 was an even bigger hit. It is not pretty much assured that Housefull 3 will go on to be an even greater success." For Akshay Kumar as well as Sajid Nadiadwala, the franchise holds great value. While the core value of quintessential 'family entertainer' has been kept intact with Housefull and Housefull 2, the two films have also brought in good moolah in India as well as overseas. "This is the reason why Eros International is setting up the film in a big way for its 3rd June release, "an insider reveals, "If a comedy is a multi-starrer and comes with great entertainment quotient, being a franchise allows it to win half the battle well in advance. Bollywood has seen its quote of biopic affairs this year. It is time to let your hair down and indulge in some fun." Guess that would be well taken care of by Housefull 3 which is arriving with great expectations on the coming Friday.

Anil Kapoor: The humour is real in 'Welcome Back'

Age is just a number and who better testifies that than Anil Kapoor. With his charming presence and contagious sense of humour, he has defied time. The actor speaks about his experiences of shooting 'Welcome Back' just ahead of its World Television Premiere What are your expectations from the premiere? Welcome was a bigger hit on TV. Despite faring well at the box office, I have heard people have watched it multiple times on television. I expect a similar impact for the sequel. It is a hard-core family entertainer that will appeal to a cross section of audiences. How was it filming the crazy dialogues in the comic caper? People think that comedy is easy but such lines need a lot of conviction and effortlessness to make it look real. The highlight of this film is that the comedy is situational and the humour is real. This is the kind of movie one should watch to de-stress. Age is just a number and who better testifies that than Anil Kapoor. Fantabulous is the way to describe the cracking promo of WELCOME, an Anees Bazmee, film which boasts of a heavy duty star cast comprising of Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Firoz Khan, Nana Patekar, Katrina Kaif and Mallika Sherawat. A rib tickling film in the offering, the film's plot revolves around a simpleton played by Akshay in love with a girl [Katrina Kaif] who happens to be the sister of 3 mobsters - Anil Kapoor, Firoz Khan and Nana Patekar. On the other hand twist in the tale comes in the form of Mallika who surfaces as Akshay's fianc©e! If 100 seconds of WELCOME promo is any indication, Akshay Kumar is all set to have his fifth major box office in a row after BHAGAM BHAG, NAMASTEY LONDON, HEYY BABYY and BHOOL BHULAIYAA
