After the success of ‘Pollathavan’, Vettirimaran and Dhanush are working for ‘Aadukalam’. The movie has completed its shooting and also post production works are going on. However, in the mean time, director Vettirimaran have plans to reshoot some important scenes of the film in Chennai. The movie is set in the backdrop of Madurai town and the shooting has been planned at Red Hills of Chennai. Dhanush plays the role of little monster who refuses to move for anything.It is full time action and romantic entertainer. Ace Tamil poet Jayabalan plays the villain role in the film. Dhanush says that ‘Aadukalam’ will be different from his earlier films and he is even suggesting his friends to watch the film.
Rajini praises Dhanush for Aadukalam
Super star Rajinikanth sometimes turns as a viewer and enjoys his time by watching special shows arranged for him. It happened with many movies in past and he appreciates the whole team either by phone or by sending a letter of appreciation. Latest to this is he watched Aadukalam of his son-in-law Dhanush at Four Frames preview theatre on January 12, Wednesday evening. The preview show was arranged for Rajinikanth and Dhanush’s family. Dhanush’s parents and his brother Selvaraghavan along with other close relatives were spotted at the preview show. This is for the second time he is watching film. He earlier watched the uneven copy of the film before the computer graphic works were done. After the screening Rajini said “The film is full length commercial entertainer and Dhanush will surely reach the next stage with this film. He also praised the director Vetrimaran for his fantastic direction and script”.
Trisha out of Dhanush’s Aadukalam
Director Vettirimaran and Dhanush’s upcoming flick ‘Aadukalam’ which was set on Madurai backdrop is progressing at fast face. Earlier, the beautiful actress Trisha has signed for the movie to act opposite Dhanush in the film but, later she was replaced by a new comer Tapasi. Giving explanation about Trisha to be out of the project, Director says “Trisha had participated in the first schedule of the shooting and shot some scenes for four days. But the team did not get permission to shoot in some of the locations they had planned and her dates expired. In the intermediate time, the lady bagged a prestigious offer in Bollywood and the team decided to let her go. And there is no misunderstanding with Trisha.” The director Vettirimaran is with great expectations as the film is being promoted by Sun Pictures.
Adaikalam - Clearing all hurdles
Finally Prashanth's long-pending Adaikalam will grace theatres this month. The movie being directed by debutant Bhuvanaraja went to floors, a couple of years ago. After several delays, the movie finally managed to cross all hurdles to hit the screens. Speaking about the movie, Bhuvanaraja, says, 'When the movie was nearing completion, the producer was struck with his business commitments abroad. After a delay we managed to complete the movie. But when we planned for release, the likes of Thavamai Thavamirundhu and Em Mahan got released. We felt those films had resemblance to Adaikalam and hence we chose to postpone our plans'. Asked about the movie, he says, 'It would be one to cherish in Prashanth's career. An touching tale of love and affection within a family, the movie features Uma in the role of Prashanth's sister. Interestingly Prashanth has no heroine in the movie'.
Adaikalam is Prashanth's big hope
Prashanth is pinning all his hopes in Adaikalam. After a average outing in the last couple of years, the actor is optimistic of turning things around with the movie directed by debutant Bhuvanaraja. He has taken up a role that calls for some solid performance and he's delivered the goods. Says Bhuvanaraja, 'I narrated two subjects to Prashanth and he liked both. It was then that I told him there was another script that could be gratifying for him as an actor, and Prashanth was keen to listen to it too. He immediately agreed to do it', he says. Bhuvanaraja, who has worked as associate with directors Adhiyamaan and Mugavari Durai, says, 'the audience can see a different Prashanth in Adaikkalam. He has come up with a matured performance with right expressions.' On the subject, he says, 'the movie revolvesaround the bonding between a responsible father and his estranged wife,son and daughter'. Kadal Pookal fame Uma, Thyagarajan and Saranya are also in the cast.
