Teja has been the director during his films Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu and Jayam days. Each film became more successful than the other and he became a cult among the telugu youth. But his next big film with Mahesh, Nijam turned to be a disappointment for all parties involved even though Teja still maintains that he did not loose even a rupee on the film. His comeback to youthful love entertainers with Jai, Neeku Naaku, Lakshmi Kalyanam, Avunanna Kadanna did not end up being successful in fact few movies earned him bad name. His Dhairyam, Keka, Hora Hori and 1000 abaddalu are considered to be his worst works of the career. He is trying to prove his mantle that he can still entertain people and the three huge successes that have introduced new actors to the Telugu Film Industry are in no way fluke. His brilliance is visible in those movies that did not work at the box office too but the script and few of the histrionics that he tries to extract from his actors seems to be very old and out of sync with the targeted audience. He seems to be out of ideas and trying to rehash the same old story. Being a candid and outspoken personality he agreed and took the criticism and decided to change his outlook with a new script it seems. And that is the major reason that Suresh Babu agreed to make the film with Rana. Kajal Aggarwal who was introduced to screen by Teja with his movie, Lakshmi Kalyanam, has been praised by the maker many times that she shows gratitude towards him. That’s the reason he choose the actress in his all important big film. As per the close sources, we got to know that Catherine Teresa will be essaying the role of a politician in the film. She has already played MLA character in Sarrainodu this year and the part designed by Teja will be different it seems. Actor Navdeep who was introduced to Telugu screen by the maker himself with Jai, will be seen as another lead in the film. The movie will start shooting from December and is expected to release during Dussehra season.
Teja to turn producer soon
Cinematographer Teja turned a director with 'Chitram' produced on the prestigious banner of Ushakiron Movies and bagged a sensational hit right from his debut film. The total budget of the film was just Rs 47 lakhs. That film had become a role model for several low-budget films. His films like 'Nuvvu-Nenu, Jayam, Avunanna Kadanna, Nijam and Lakshmi Kalyanam' were also proved hits. Now this director is planning to enter into film production and had asked Krishnavamsi to direct the film. The script work of the movie is in brisk progress. The film is likely to go to sets in the last week of June or in the first week of July.
Uday Kiran returns to Tollywood
After 'Avunanna Kadanna' Uday Kiran kept himself away from films for some time. Though he played in one of the films in Tamil directed by Balachander. However, it is reliably learnt that opportunity knocked Uday Kiran's door in the form of Lagadapati Sridhar. If everything goes well, Sridhar is planning to do a film with Uday Kiran on the banner of Larsco Entertainments. Titled as 'Viyyalavari Kayyalu', the film to be directed by E Sattibabu will have Srihari in a key role. Story discussions besides the selection of other cast and technicians are in progress. The shooting is most likely to begin in October.
