The last week was quiet in terms of new releases. After Brahmastram, there have been no real big releases in Telugu. But come September, it will be hectic and huge. In fact the last quarter of the year will see real biggies hitting the screens. Among the big ones are Stalin, Boss, Balakrishna'?ÂÂ?s P V Vasu film, Venky'?ÂÂ?s AMAV (maybe delayed), Mahesh Babu'?ÂÂ?s Sainikudu, Prabhas Munna or Yogi. Stalin and Boss are the nearest ones. Both are the real heavyweight movie and we need not say anything new about the movies. 2006 has been grand one so far. And by the looks of it, the party hasn'?ÂÂ?t stopped yet. So keep that champagne ready to be uncorked for more.
Jaggu is Sportive
Jagapathi Babu is having a mixed trend actually. His Brahmastram, talked of highly, is having problems at the release stage. But elsewhere the compact actor is doing fine. He is seen something of a lucky talisman that he is roped in for cameo roles. It all perhaps started with Anuokkunda Oka Roju where he played a surprise cop. Now, Jaggu is cast in a guest role in Janardhana Maharshi'?ÂÂ?s film that features Allari Naresh as the hero. Jaggu, who says he likes doing multi-starrers, is also very supportive and sportive.
Jaggu with Gowri
Even before Brahmastram could reach the theatres, Jagapathi Babu looks set for a new venture. According to industry sources, Jagapathy Babu's new venture will be titled Jayabheri. According to early reports, Mayajalam Venkat will produce the flick while Ravi Chawala will direct it. Sources say Gowri Munjal, who is looking for a major break after Bunny, will be the heroine.
A sizzling summer ahead
This is going to be one of the spectacular summers in Telugu film history. After the dry spell of March, the April month is going to be sizzling in more ways than one. Sources in the industry reckon that more than Rs.100 crore will be at stake over the next two months or so as a slew of high-profile releases will start hitting the theaters. And interestingly, the releases run the entire gamut --- from periodical devotional films to thrillers to mass to experimental ventures. You can see all of them. Among the biggie are Bangaram, Pournami, Sri Ramadasu, Pokiri, Godavari, Astram, Brahmastram, Ram, Abaddam. Almost all the top names in the industry Nagarjuna, NTR Junior, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Sumanth have something at stake. So don't go away folks. Keep that vacation to some other time
Jaggu takes a chance
Jagapathi Babu, as a popular hero in Telugu, has done it all and seen it all. But the popular image of his is that of sentimental lover-boy, family hero almost all his big hits have cast him similar mould. But an actor's biggest challenge is to break the mould. And Jaggu is doing just that. In recent times, he has attempted angry and action roles. His Jagapathi and Siva Kasi had him play rough-and-tough macho man. It is just not that, he is also attempting a negative role (lot of grey shades) in a film being produced by Ideaz, with Shashank in the lead. In Brahmastram, directed by Soorya Kiran, Jagapathi is playing another different character. Surely you have to hand it out to Jagapathi for trying new things
Jaggu does it again
Jagapathi Babu likes to spring a surprise from time to time. Whether Sivakasi runs or not, Jagapathi's role in it as an enigmatic gangster has won rave reviews. He is currently fully involved with Brahmastram, in which he plays a ruffian. But the biggest surprise maybe in the film that he is doing for Ideaz Productions. Jaggu, it maybe recalled, did an understated but brilliant role in Anukokunda Oka Roju. In fact, his role in the movie was kept under wraps till the movie's release. This movie for Ideaz will be on that lines, say insiders. The movie has Sashank and Rajeev Kanakala as heroes. Harshita, a newcomer, is the heroine. Produced Chakravarti Ramachandra, the film's shooting is currently on. It will be released in May.
