Thala Ajith Ilayathalapathy Vijay fans unite against Cauvery hate spreading kannadigas
Social media is always on fire as fans of the box office kings Vijay and Ajith are at loggerheads with each other waiting to pounce even at the slightest provocation. Many social analysts have requested the two groups to end their hate campaigns as it is a very unhealthy trend that sets a bad example throughout the world. The Thala-Thalapathy fans however have not heeded anyone’s advice so far and have continued their battle on the internet platforms. However, the ongoing Cauvery issue has brought Ajith and Vijay fans together. Some groups in Karnataka are hell bent on not sharing the precious resource of nature, that is water to Tamil Nadu. Members of such groups have taken on to Facebook and Twitter and have started spreading hate on Tamilians and ridiculing well loved heroes of Tamil cinema. This has caused Ajith and Vijay fans to combine and give it back to the haters word for word. Hope this trend continues.
Simbu says what best we can do for the Cauvery issue
Amid raging protests by Karnataka-based outfits and farmers associations against the release of Cauvery water for Tamil Nadu, a few days back a rumor started spreading that actor Silamabrasan has said that henceforth his film will not be released in Karnataka. Within a few hours, a Tweet clarified that the multi-talented actor has not made any such statement. Now the ‘Vaalu’ actor has released a statement to the Press in which he has clarified his stand on the Cauvery issue. "I'm currently in Thailand, completing the last leg of the shoot for my film ‘Acham Enbathu Madamaiyada’ . Today I was informed by well wishers, as well as my father, about my 'apparent' comment on the sensitive Cauvery issue. As a responsible citizen I'm aware of my role and clearly understand my limits too. I have not made or given any statement on this issue. This is an issue between two states and not a platform for artists to engage in propaganda or take lightly. The elected leaders of both states with the support of the judiciary will provide us a solution. The best we can do is to pray for a good monsoon that can provide prosperity and peace to both the states. I also hope that at no cost should this issue jeopardise the relationship between the people of these two states, who have coexisted as neighbours. I hope we are able to overcome this crisis soon. I reiterate that I will be the last person to garner publicity by issuing political statements that could endanger the peace of both these states." Such a level-headed response from a young actor.
Vijay Sethupathi requests people to forget hatred and stop attacking innocents on Cauvery issue
Even as the Karnataka Government with the help of Central Security forces has been trying hard to crush the violent protests in Karnataka against the Supreme Court order to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, the incidents of Tamils trying to cross the border being attacked and insulted have not stopped. Even today a few incidents where Tamil truck drivers were attacked and forcibly asked to chant pro-Karnataka slogans have been reported in TV news channels. Members of a Tamil outfit tried to attack a restaurant owned by a Kannadiga in Chennai were arrested by Police personnel. In the meantime film stars and celebrities have started voicing their concerns about the issue. Kollywood’s leading young star Vijay Sethupathi has sent out a video message in which he emotionally requests everyone to forget hatred and stop attacking the common man. "I am not going to talk about Cauvery water sharing dispute. It is very painful to see innocent people being attacked. We have cast out votes and elected the political leaders to handle our problems. Let us place our demands in front of them. They will discuss and bring about a solution. Instead attacking the layman who cannot fulfill his basic necessities if he cannot go to work even for one day, is highly distressing. Behind every such person attacked, there is a family loving them and expecting their safe return to home. If this issue is not there, I believe that there would have been exchange of love between us (Tamils and Kannadigas). This sense of hatred has been thrust upon us for decades. We should first understand that. For me my language is like my mother. I love my mom and respect her. Same way, we respect and love you and your language. Let the Government handle this problem. Let’s place our requests to the Government. I solemnly request everyone to forget hatred and renounce violence. Please don’t attack the common man. "
