More news →'Goa' - Based on true incident
There has been so much speculated about the storyline of 'Goa', which would be a racy entertainer directed by Venkat Prabhu under the banner of Ocher Studios in association with a Hollywood production house. Actors Premji Amaran, Vaibhav and Jai are signed up. Cinematographer Sakthi Saravanan and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja have also been roped in. Inspired from the true incident that happened this March in Goa, in which a man was charged with the rape of British teenager, the film revolves around the rape case of a girl in which the lead stars of the film get caught innocently for the crime they did not commit and how they acquit themselves by spotting the real culprits forms the gripping storyline of 'Goa' which would be narrated in a style that is unique to Venkat and his crew. It seems that Venkat Prabhu is all geared up to repeat the success with 'Goa' to score a hat-trick.

Bookings open from today for these rib ticklers. If you ask what is similar between ‘Goa’ and ‘Thamil Padam’, it’s the humour quotient.... excuse us, not quotient; both are touted to be out and out comedy feasts. While ‘Goa’ is coming from the 'Chennai-28' buddies, ‘Thamil Padam’ is from a fresh combo but then is not lacking in anything to ‘Goa’. Trailers of 'Goa' and 'Thamil Padam' have become the talk of the town for telling a story in their own funny way. If 'Thamil Padam' is showing the different highlights of the film like Shiva’s "Pacha Manja Thamizhan" song, hilarious romantic number "Omagazeya", the Nayagan dialogue by M.S Baskar; ‘Goa’ is hitting it the right way with the colourfull (in every way) - Goa beach, angelic heroines and timing comedies that made us to ask, “Eppo da Goa Varum? 'Endhiran' goes to Goa
Close on the heels of completing a song sequence in Peru and USA, the 'Endhiran' crew including Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai and director Shankar would go to Goa in the first week of October to shoot for a song and some important stunt sequences. 'Endhiran', a sci-fi film, produced by Ayngaran Internationals and directed by Shankar, started filming last month abroad. The crew returned back last week. Meanwhile, the latest buzz doing rounds is that they would start shooting scenes in Goa. It may be recalled that Rajinikanth was supposed to meet the office-bearers of his welfare association on 3 October to chalk out his future strategy following a dip in his popularity as predicted by a survey report. It is now being reported that this meet has been postponed to the second week of October once the crew returns from Goa.
Who will inaugurate the IFFI at Goa?
With just a few weeks left for the International Film Festival to kick off in Goa, it still remains a mystery as to who would inaugurate this year's edition of the coveted film festival. Though several names are doing the rounds, the organizers have not confirmed any as yet. One of the sought-after annual event attended by avid film-buffs from across the globe, the IFFI will have movies from various languages screened attracting huge gathering. The event has promised plenty of action both on and off the screen. The North-South divide reared its head in the earlier editions of the IFFI. Malayalam actor Mammootty had openly stated that South Indian films are not given due prominence and all the limelight is hijacked by Bollywood movies. Also director Ameer, who churned out movies like Ram and Paruthiveeran, also echoed the same views. He expressed his ire at regional language films not been given due prominence in such festivals. In such scenario, it remains to be seen as to who would inaugurate the IFFI this year. Speculations are rife that a yesteryear Bollywood 'super star' may do the job. But a general feeling among the South Indian film personalities is that a veteran film personality from South India should be entrusted the job. Clearly, IFFI is making enough noises even before its gets underway.

Without revealing the details of the star cast, he said, 'Rajinikanth listened to the storyline and was highly impressed. So was Soundary Rajinikanth'. The director is optimistic that 'Saroja' would make it big at the box office.
