After exploring the realms of reality drama with "Talvar", Konkona Sen Sharma will be next seen as a police officer in Sonakshi Sinha's “Akira”. The actress says "luckily" she didn’t have to perform daredevil stunts as she essays a pregnant woman. Konkona, known as a powerhouse performer of the Indian film industry, said she's in love with her strong character in the upcoming film, helmed by A.R. Murugadoss. “I like my role in 'Akira', which is a remake of a south Indian film. I play the role of a pregnant cop as is in the original. So, since it's the role of a pregnant cop, luckily I didn’t have to do any stunts. It's a nice and powerful role of a strong woman,” Konkona told. Needless to say, she didn't even have to undergo any training for the role. The action thriller -- a remake of 2011 Tamil film "Mouna Guru" -- also stars Shatrughan Sinha, Anurag Kashyap and Amit Sadh. The original film narrates a story of a misunderstood college youth, who gets involved in a crime plot and how his life goes for a toss. The film highlights a strong social message and focuses on the safety of women. But Murugadoss has made some changes to the storyline for it's a Hindi remake. Konkona, who announced her split with husband Ranvir Shorey last month, added that she “has finished shooting for it”. Meanwhile, Konkona is basking in all the appreciation that is coming her way for her portrayal as the mother of the murdered character in "Talvar". Meghna Gulzar's directorial unfolds three scenarios of the 2008 murder of 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar and her family's domestic servant Hemraj on the silver screen.

Salman Khan’s Eid luck works in favour of ‘Kick’
If one goes by the box office collections of Salman Khan-starrer “Kick”, people would unanimously agree that the superstar, whose Eid releases like “Wanted" and "Ek Tha Tiger" turned out to be super hits, should stick to his lucky date for movie screenings. "Kick", which marks the directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala, known for producing hit movies like "Housefull" and "Heropanti", has minted over Rs.80 crore in just three days despite being panned by the critics. “Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’ collects (Friday) Rs.26.4 crore, (Saturday) Rs.27.15 crore and (Sunday) Rs.30.18 crore. Rs. 83.73 crore is phenomenal,” read a statement. You make your own luck Boman Irani
Actor Boman Irani, who is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty's "Dilwale" which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, says he believes in luck but when it comes to getting a break in the film industry, hard work does matter. "It will always be difficult, it will always be easy (to get a break)... it depends on your preparation of getting there. People say that it's a lot to do with your luck -- I do believe in luck, but I also believe that you make your own luck," Boman told in an interview over phone from Mumbai. "Hard work takes care of 80 or maybe 90 percent of the luck factor, 10 percent might be attributed to luck. If a person is hard working, knows exactly what it takes to be an actor, I think he or she will make it at some point in life. "When you say that 'I'm struggling', but you are doing nothing about understanding the craft of acting and facing the camera, then no amount of luck is going to help you," he added. The 55-year-old actor, who made his Bollywood debut with filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani's "Munna Bhai M.B.B.S." at the age of 44, says it wasn't hard for him to get a film, but he struggled during the years before he made his foray in the movie industry. "It takes a lifetime of hard work to get there, so the struggle had already happened. I had kind of paid my dues doing 14 years of theatre. When I got 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.', I was so taken up by the story and I met Rajkumar Hirani for the first time and I said, 'This is a guy I'd like to work with'. "So getting a film was not as difficult as the years I'd spent before it as a photographer or as a theatre actor and before that as a shopkeeper. So it wasn't much of a struggle, but the struggle of life was very much there for 44 years," he quipped. It's not box office success that Boman looks for through a role. He is most satisfied when he watches his movie years after its release and still likes his performance. "I seem to enjoy every single day on the set. There are some roles that you might get great creative and artistic satisfaction out of, some might get you a great amount of box office success, but frankly, that doesn't move me much. "Movies that I can watch 10 years after their release and still feel happy that I did that film, those films give me the most satisfaction," said the actor, who has featured in movies like "3 Idiots", "Well Done Abba", "Don - The Chase Begins" and "Happy New Year". As far as picking the right script is concerned, the "Lage Raho Munna Bhai" star says he likes scripts that catch his attention in the "first three lines", but he only likes working with filmmakers with a "certain amount of competence". Boman said: "If I'm engaged in the first three lines of the script, something is working for me... you've picked my interest. So the moment that happens, I ask for a little more to read. Also, at the end of the day, it's the person who makes the film. So the person who is making it also has to be of a certain amount of competence."
Luck also supported Girish Kasaravalli
One of the eminent directors of this country Girish Kasaravalli thanked the luck that supported him for 'Gulabi Talkies'. Even before the release of the film it had won two awards at Osian's Cine Fan International film festival recently and the support he got from producer, people of three villages Madikal, Kodiki and Tharapathi contributed in making the film he said. I have avoided things to look beautiful on screen in this film and it is shot in 16mm. The result is fine. The involvement of actress Umasri was superb and people watching the film at Osian's festival believed that Umasri is from the fisherman community. Girish opined that in the days of manufacturing of opinion in the media he wanted everything to look raw in 'Gulabi Talkies'. This type of off beat film should get a prime theatre for release opined actress Umasri who won the best actress at the Osian's international festival and urged Dr.Jayamala KFCC President sitting next to her to make way for the cinema release. In my career as an actress from 1980 via 'Pattanakke Bandha Pathniyaru' I have been director's actor. I know only 'Yes Boss and OK Boss' in my career of 350 films said the humble Umasri at the get together party at Basanth Residency in Gandhinagar. Dr.Jayamala immediately reacted that she is ready to allocate a theatre in her capacity as head of Apex Body of Kannada film industry. The leading lady also expressed that when she made 'Thai Saheba' in the direction of Girish Kasaravalli she only bagged the special jury award at the national level but not the international festival award money like what Umasri had got for 'Gulabi Talkies'. Producer of 'Gulabi Talkies' Basanth Kumar Patil is content with the second film production in the direction of Girish Kasaravalli. His earlier film 'Naayi Neralu' earned good name for his banner and now 'Gulabi Talkies' fetched award money of Rs.20 lakhs besides Rs.2 lakh award for best actress Umasri.
