Mankatha release postponed!

Here is a breaking news regarding Thala Ajith’s 50th film. So far the team of Mankatha went on saying that the film’s release is scheduled on Ajith’s birthday i.e. May 1st, 2011. But the recent reports claim that the film has been rescheduled due to some reasons. Let’s hear that in director Venkat Prabhu’s words. Venkat Prabhu has quoted this in a leading newspaper “We have decided to release the film in June as our schedule has been extended. As the film revolves around cricket and mafia betting it contains lots of action sequences and for this stunts we are moving to Mumbai today (March 16). We will be back only in the second week of April and by that time we will be left with two more songs to picturize. So we decided to postpone”. This can be taken as a clear indication from the team and as the IPL and elections are also nearing this would be the best option for the film to do good at the box office.

Mankatha Trisha 40th Film

Trisha Says I have completed 39 movies so far in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. ‘Mankatha’ is my 40th film. I am happy about it,” says the actress, who is not ready to reveal anything about the movie. It is a strict instruction by director Venkat Prabhu that we are not supposed to share ‘Mankatha’ details with anyone. So I have no other option than keeping quiet till the film’s release,” she explains. Trisha however says, “Mankatha is a boys’ flick. So I don’t have a role like that of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ or ‘Manmadhan Ambu’. But I do have a part to play and guess I have done justice.

Mankatha' attracts Bollywood crowd

Well it looks like 'Mankatha' has hit the bull’s eye in making news. The film is one of the most-wanted projects back in the homeland – Tamil Nadu. The shooting of the film is entirely through and the post-production team is busy to carry the film forward to the theatres in one perfect foil. It looks like some Bollywood producers are eyeing 'Mankatha,' to remake it in to Hindi. While the director of this project, Venkat Prabhu, has not confirmed anything regarding the same openly, there are some reliable sources in the industry who have confirmed this. Venkat Prabhu seems to be taking his time in nodding his yes to the Hindi-speaking crowd. Venkat wants to first launch his film for the Tamil audience. The film is touted to hit theatres during August, but a tentative date has not been finalized yet. The film might hit theatres sometime during the Independence Day, suggest experts. While there are talks going on as to the Hindi remake of 'Mankatha,' some of sections of K'Town were plagued with rumours that 'Mankatha' is a remake of Bollywood film 'Jannat' which released more than a couple of years back starring Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. The remake news seems to have perturbed Dayanidhi Alagiri, who has firmly denied any similarity between the scripts of ‘Jannat’ and 'Mankatha.' The music of 'Mankatha' is touted to hit the stands in July.

Mankatha release on Independence Day

With the entire town curiously looking out for Ajith Kumar’s Mankatha, Venkat Prabhu has revealed that they’re planning to release the film on August 15, 2011 for Independence Day. It has been a long run for the team members of Mankatha as they’ve been relentlessly involved in shooting without taking any breaks. Much prior to the commencement of this project, Venkat Prabhu was marked by excessive confidence on releasing the film for Ajith’s birthday. However, he later confessed his miscalculation saying that it wasn’t easy managing a bevy of big star-cast. The post production works have already started while Yuvan Shankar Raja is working on final output of the remaining tracks.
