Afzal Khan, producer of 'Hum Kisise Kum Nahin,' starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai, is back with another multi-starrer, this time an emotional love story produced and directed by him, titled 'Mehbooba'. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Manisha Koirala in the lead roles. The film is all set to release nationwide on 11th July, 2008. Set on a huge canvas and shot across three continents, America, Europe and Asia, with four different countries as the story's backdrop, with New York, Budapest, Austria, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Mumbai as the key locations, the film boasts of lavish settings and locales, expensive sets under the supervision of production designer Nitin Chandrakant Desai, eye-catching cinematography with lensing by ace DOP Ashok Mehta, and some breath- taking action with Bhiku Verma as the stunt coordinator. The music has been composed by Ismail Darbar who returns with a truly memorable score in the vein of his earlier works 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and 'Devdas'. Khan has toiled four years to mount this magnum opus, leaving no stone unturned in bringing his vision to the silver screen, and the promos are testimony to the effort and creativity spent in directing this labour of love.
Ganesh Hegde To Sing-n-Choreograph Ramus Mahbooba
It's old news that Himesh Reshammiya is no more a part of Ram Gopal Verma's 'Sholay'. In fact MusicMazaa was the first to report this breaking news to you. Now, the latest dope on the 'Mahbooba' is that choreographer turned singer Ganesh Hegde is going to choreograph, compose and sing the track. I would say that is bad news. For Himesh is a far better singer-composer than what Ganesh Hegde can ever be. It seems Ramu's tryst with history is going nowhere. Amitabh Bachchan doesn't have the menacing edge of a Gabbar Singh. Instead he looks a beaten war horse in that shabby look of his. Ajay Devgan has never displayed his gregarious self to fit into Dharmendra's Veeru mould. Mohit Ahlawat is a grand furniture store and can never ever match Bachchan's Jai. Sushmita is no Jaya Bachchan to play Radha and God knows who's playing Basanti. Jiah Khan'.Nisha Kothari'Ugh even the thought of them replaying Hema Malini gives me the creeps. So, on one hand Farhan Akhtar seems to have made a creative remake of 'Don''.Ramu's big gamble on 'Sholay' seems to be going nowhere.
