In an intelligent way and shrewd manner director Pallakki Radhakrishna has completed the two schedules of his second film 'Devanahalli' that explain the land mafia in the wake of Devanahalli locality acquiring the international status with the Airport coming up there. The loss of human relationship is the crux of the matter Pallakki is focusing in his film. Pallakki Radhakrishna who gave a convincing performance in the recently released 'Chaitrada Chandrama' besides directing the film 'Devanahalli' is appearing in an important role that represent one Mr Muni Nagappa of Devanahalli surroundings resident. Pallakki Radhakrishna also producing the film with the earnings he has made from his employment in Railway department and selling some of the valuables traveled in some of the districts of Karnataka to get the theatre talents of Shivasanchara and Ninasam troupe to his film 'Devanahalli'. Rahul a local of Bangalore, theatre artists like Udaya Munda, Sri Raghav, Udaya Sugriv, Vali Vidyarthi, Hanumanthu, Rajesh Burudekatte Dr.Chakravarthy a dentist by profession, actress Shravani are the newcomers. Pallakki has veterans like BK Shanker, Sadashiva Brahmavar, Manjula Badami, M.s.Umesh, Chidanand, Aravind for rest of the roles. There is some new attempt in music too. Music director Prayog has used the philosophical and folk to mix it up with western style. Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar, Prof.Chandrasekhar Thalya, Pallakki and Rajesh Burudekatte have penned the songs. Keshav Aditya has penned the dialogues for this film. Rao Muthoji is the cameraman. Two schedules shooting has been completed in Yelanaka, Ramanathapura, Sanehalli where Sri Panditaradhya Swamiji provided the necessary permissions as the locality looked like Devanahalli.
'Chaitrada Chandrama' ready
The pride of Kannada filmdom S.Narayan has completed 'Chaitrada Chandrama' a film starring his son Pankaaj and mega hit 'Cheluvina Chittara' (produced and directed by Narayan) fame heroine Amoolya. This is the 39th directorial venture of the most successful director of Kannada cinema S.Narayan shot in 70 days in Bangalore and Kashmir is a tender love story. Besides being a director S.Narayan is the producer, lyricist and music director of his son Pankaaj's debut film 'Chaitradada Chandrama'. Starting the career as independent director from 'Chaitrada Premanjali' director S.Narayan sees a vast change in the technological advancement and agrees that story of a film is primarily important. On what I have done to industry I would proudly say that I have given my son to the film field. Narayan addressed the media at the Abhimani Convention center and introduced the cast and crew of the film 'Chaitrada Chandrama'. On his son Pankaaj director Narayan said he is not trained in acting and I wanted such a youngster to look fresh and natural on screen. What is all about 'Chaitrada Chandrama'? It is all about waiting in anxiety for new moon. It symbolizes my son debut also disclosed Narayan. This is the most expensive film of my career in Sri Cheluvambika Pictures added Narayan. Debutant Pankaaj who has just finished 10th class and worked in the holidays for this film like the actress Amoolya (who completed 9th standard and in the holidays she worked for the film) disclosed that he was surprised to know that he is the hero of 'Chaitrada Chandrama' a day before the commencement of the film. I had the marvelous support from my father in the dialogue delivery and acting division disclosed Pankaaj. I had training in dance from choreographer Malur Srinivas and fights I learnt from Appu Venkatesh said the teenage actor Pankaaj. I have worked for this film in my holidays. I have very sweet memories and one day is not enough to say lot of good things I learnt from director Narayansir said the charming actress Amoolya. Veena Sunder, Pallakki Radhakrishna, Kumari Suma, Vijay Jatti, choreographer Malur Srinivas, Cameraman Renukumar highlighted their experience at the media briefing. Anand Audio Mohan present at the briefing disclosed the audio sale of 'Chaitrada Chandrama' is increasing day by day and for the debut hero such a scale of rise in sale was not heard before.
2007: The year that was - Part I
Another interesting and commendable year has passed for the Kannada film industry. It is interesting because the bizarre of newcomers entered the film industry. Nearly 200 films went on the floor in this year. It is a record in the history of Kannada cinema. Most of them are newcomers. Thanks to 'Mungaru Male' and 'Dhuniya'. Out of 200 films that went on the floors only 92 Kannada films got released in the year 2007 recording 20 percent of success. The winners in the box office are - Dhuniya, Arasu, Sixer, 16 to 60 (re release), Pallakki, Hudugaata, Cheluvina Chittara, Sri Dhanamma Devi, Satyavan Savitri, Manmatha, Orata I Love You, Yuga, Chanda, Shukra, Milana, Aa Dinagalu and Krishna made profits. It has been very fruitful and unforgettable year for Ganesh. The Golden Star prefix he got to his name is apt. His films 'Mungaru Male' (released on 29th December 2006) 'Cheluvina Chittara', 'Hudugaata' and 'Krishna' of 2007 made a whopping business of over 100 crores in less than one year. 'Mungaru Male' completed one year run and he became a brand ambassador. In the first quarter he has films like 'Gaalipata' and 'Aramane' set for release. All his films so far from 'Chellata' completed 100 days screening is another notable record in the career of Ganesh. He is the darling for producers. The second in the queue of popularity and making a strong ground is Vijay. Although he was in controversy his films like 'Dhuniya, Yuga, Geleya and Chanda' did tremendous business of Rs.50 crores. The power star Puneeth Rajakumar films 'Arasu and Milana' gave him the regular 100 mark and also earned roughly Rs.20 crores of rupees in the year 2007. Among the heroines Pooja Gandhi, Amoolya and Rashmi earned laurels. Directors Yogaraj Bhat, Soori and S.Narayan remained in the limelight for the terrific results of their films. It is a wonderful year for music director Mano Murthy, cameraman Krishna and Satya Hegde. It has been a debacle for all the senior actors and actresses. The similar was the situation in 2006. Dr.Vishnu's 'Mathad Mathad Mallige, Ekadanta, Kshana Kshana and his special appearance in No.73 Shanthi Nivasa' failed to click. The result of 'E Bandhana' is not yet known. Shivarajkumar films 'Gandana Mane, Santha, Thayiya Madilu failed to keep the cash registers ringing. The result of 'Lava Kusha' yet to be ascertained not only for Shivarajkumar but also for Upendra as his other films like 'Parodi, Masthi, Anatharu' bombed. The similar is the situation for Darshan, Sudeep, Dhyan, Premkumar, Vijaya Raghavendra, Murali, Ramya (except Arasu), Rakshita, Radhika, Rekha (except Hudugaata).
'Payana' love journey
'Payana' means journey. It is the love journey of famous comedian in small screen Ravishanker and beautiful actress Ramanithu Chaudhary in the film 'Payana' taken up by director Kiran Govi for producer Venkatesh. Ramanithu Chaudhary who appeared in films like 'Pallakki' and 'Beladingalagi Baa' plays an NRI girl meet the dream boy hailing from middle class family in this film. The middle class youth in the film 'Payana' played by Ravishanker (shot in to fame from famous television serial 'Silli Lalli' in the role of Dr.Vittala Rao) has been waiting for a long time to play a full length role on big screen. He has appeared in 25 television serials in his 10 years career in small screen. I have not heard a story like this says Ravishanker who is the long time friend of 'Payana' director Kiran Govi. Ravishanker plays a cab driver in 'Payana' and it is my dream role he says. How much a middle class youth can dream about is the concept of my film says director Kiran Govi. The shooting will be held in 60 days at Bangalore, Gaganachukki falls, Talkad, Himadh Gopalaswamy hills, Bayalakuppe surroundings. Harikrishna is scoring music for seven songs in this romantic love story film. Producer C.Venkatesh is independently producing this film banking on the caliber of Kiran Govi. Venkatesh is a joint producer of under production Kannada film 'Rajakumari' starring siblings V.Ravichandran and Balaji in lead roles.
Saroj Khan in kannada
The mesmerizing Hindi films choreographer Saroj Khan is making debut in Kannada film 'Yuva' that is going on the floor on Wednesday in Bangalore. 'Ek Do Theen''song in 'Tezaab' (starring Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit) Hindi film given a major breakthrough for Saroj Khan in the 90's is doing choreography with another choreographer Prabhu Srinivas for the songs in this Kannada film directed by K.Narendra Babu of 'O Gulabiye' and 'Pallakki' Kannada films. In 'Yuva' Khartik Shetty and Madhoo are making debut. SDP Productions 'Yuva' is produced by Manish Bansal, C.N.Venkatesh, Shetty Manju and T.Naresh. Gurukiran scores the music. M.S.Ramesh has written the dialogues and Santanio Torzio is director of photography. Khartik is trained by dragon master of India Cheetah Yajnesh Shetty of Bollywood. A special action portion is handled by Cheetah Yajnesh Shetty. Thriller Manju is the over all action director of this film. Action extravaganza is expected from 'Yuva'.
Love and action in 'Naa Premi Kane'
Raashi Enterprises maiden film 'Naa Premi Kane' song recording muhurut was flagged off by superstar Shivarajkumar. Noted singer SPB was also present at Prasad recording studio at Kanteerava studio in Bangalore recently to bless the new team making this film. Two songs Naa Premi Kane, Premi Kane Nee Nanna Jeeva Kane Ninna Reethi Sariyilla and Bidarina Pallakkiyalli Saguthide Meravanige Pathine Hodhamele Gathiyaru Sathige were the two songs recorded by music director K.V.Ravichandra out of the six songs in the film. SPB, Madhu Balakrishna, Rajesh Krishnan, Hemanth, Anuradha Sriram, Sangeetha Katti and Nandita are singing for this film. S.Mallu is making debut as independent director from this film. He has also written the story and screenplay for this love tragedy cum action film. Ramesh Albai besides doing camera for the film is also assisting in direction.
