Prasanna feels Kalyana Samayal Saadham is apt for Bollywood remake

Debutant director R.S. Prasanna, who is basking in the success of recent Tamil hit "Kalyana Samayal Saadham", feels the film would be apt for a Bollywood remake as the audiences are liberal. The film, which has been popularised as KSS, is a modern-day romance. "Thanks to the success of films such as 'Vicky Donor' and 'Delhi Belly', as a creator I feel KSS would be easy to translate into Bollywood material since its audience is more liberal and evolved. Therefore, I feel my film would work much better there," Prasanna said. He also wants to direct the Bollywood version. "My producers have been getting some offers and I'm very keen to direct the Hindi version too," he said and added, "I think we shouldn't stop with Bollywood, KSS is also a Hollywood material. I hope it gets remade in Hollywood too". Prasanna is happy that the film has been unanimously appreciated. "I realised young ladies have also been enjoying our film with men. This proves that the controversial subject hasn't crossed genders despite the film using naughty humour intermittently in its presentation," he added. The film has also been picked by PVR Director's Rare and will be released Friday in select cities across India.

Was nervous about 'Kalyana Samayal Saadham': Kamal Haasan ...

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan said he wanted the recent Tamil romantic-comedy "Kalyana Samayal Saadham" to succeed because the makers had told him that he had been their biggest inspiration and that made him nervous. The film, which has been popularized as KSS, revolves around a soon-to-be married couple who deal with a personal problem. "I became nervous when the makers told me that I had inspired them. Therefore, I wished for the film to succeed and I'm glad that it has today. The director and the producer of the film ensured that I don't feel nervous anymore," Haasan said in a statement. Lauding the young team of KSS, he said it's a 'cute film on marriage'. "So many youngsters nowadays watch film of renowned directors and pass comments. But when you hand over the baton to them, they screw up big time. But here is team of youngsters, who have understood and appreciated cinema, have given us a memorable film," he said. "There have been so many films on weddings in Indian cinema, but here is a film that has presented the topic in a different perspective. It's a cute film on marriage," added Haasan, who had personally lauded the film's team at his residence here recently. Directed by debutant R.S Prasanna, the film featured Prasanna Venkatesan and Lekha Washington in the lead roles.
