Recently director Kala Prabhu shot a song sequence, based on a unique concept in Prasad studio for the movie. The song portrays New York City after 500 years. The song with such an incredible idea is for 'Sakkarakatti' that features Bhagyaraj's son Shanthanu in the lead. Vedhika is acting as his pair. The film has the music by none other than A.R. Rahman. Shanthanu and Vedhika were dancing around with a lot of French girls for the song. The song, which would cost two crore rupees, will be shot for 10 days, informs the director. The movie, which has been in the making for quite some time, is growing fast. It is expected to be released by March-April. The young hero Shanthanu is expecting the movie for a break in his career.
'Sakkarakatti' audio from June
The much awaited of 'Sakkarakatti', set to tunes by A R Rahman will be released this June. The movie starring Bhakiyaraj's son Santhanu in the lead role is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. His son Prabhu is directing the movie. Interestingly the movie's audio track has six songs which is a mix of classical and hip-hop numbers. We have completed canning the talkie portion. Only one song has to be shot. It will be completed soon. Rahman has come up with a catchy musical score and is sure the USP of this youthful enntertainer, says Prabhu.
'Sakkarakatti' audio release on July 11
The much awaited audio release of the movie 'Sakkarakatti' with music by one of India's finest talents A. R. Rahman is slated to take place on the 11th of July. The Tamil film industry is abuzz with excitement with the fact that extensive graphics are being created for the movie's song sequences, which is literally running close to a year. Reports also suggest that a crore of rupees have been spent for picturizing just one song. The intensity and effectiveness of the songs composed by A. R. Rahman is said to be the reason behind the filmmakers' going through such an effort. Another interesting piece of information is that A. R. Rahman has hummed for a song titled 'Maruthanni' which has been rendered by Madhushree. It can be recalled that all the songs that have the musician's humming have gone on to be huge chart toppers like 'Chinna Chinna Aasai' in 'Roja' and 'Sanda Kozhi' in 'Aayutha Ezhuthu'. 'Sakkarakatti' has Santhanu, son of writer, director, actor K. Bhagyaraj as hero and yet another film personality's (Kalaipuli Dhanu) son Kalaprabhu as the director. Ishita and Vedhika play the leading ladies and the film is produced by Kalaipuli Dhanu.
Sakkarakatti Spectacular visuals
A noteworthy point worth mentioning is that 'Sakkarakatti' starring Santhanoo has song sequences that have tremendous visuals developed by Ocher Studios in Chennai owned by Soundarya Rajinikanth. The song 'Chinnama' shows the hero fighting Egyptian Mummies as he walks through a deep mountain valley. This song reportedly jells with the attitude of the protagonist. There are other sequences that depict fireballs being bombarded onto a meadow. All the 'graphics' part have come out in a spectacular manner making the entire unit of 'Sakkarakatti' very happy. Two songs were screened at the recently held audio launch function. A. R. Rahman's music is indeed the highlight of the film and all the songs have come good. There are also reports that suggest certain sets that have been erected resembling the 'Van Helsing' effect. Another special effect includes a twister in all its angry might. A. R. Rahman and Ocher Studios might just be the right foil for some spectacular entertainment.
'Sakkarakatti' to storm theaters soon
Debutant director Kalaprabhu is busy with the post-production works for 'Sakkarakatti', a movie which marks the debut of director-actor Bhagyaraj's son Shanthanoo on the silver screen as hero. Kalaprabhu, son of producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, says, 'It is a stylish film'. 'Romance plays a major part of the film involving three prominent characters ' Shanthanoo, Ishitha and Vedika. It would be a different film in Tamil cinema'. On his experience working with A R Rahman for the film, Kalaprbahu says, 'I narrated the story to him for over an hour. He listened to it patiently and finally agreed to do the film. Rahman is a soft natured human being, but then he becomes tough when it comes to work. He agrees for a tune only after several attempts.' 'Shanthanoo is good friend of mine. He has performed with ease and so have my lead heroines. Post-production would be completed soon and the movie would be released as soon as possible', he adds.
'Sakkarakatti' is a refreshing movie Santhanoo
'Sakkarakatti' is a young and fresh movie, says Santhanoo Bhagyaraj, son of veteran director-actor Bhagyaraj, who is making his foray into tinsel town. The movie is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and is directed by his son Kalaprabhu. Says Santhanoo, "It is a romantic comedy and I have a chocolate-boy role. The movie has come out really good. Ishitha and Vedika play my heroines". On A R Rahman's musical score for the movie, he says, "It is just fantastic. The songs are already topping the charts. It's a dream come true experience for me to be part of a movie that has score by Rahman". On the delay of 'Sakkarakatti's' release, he says, "We are in no hurry. The post-production work are almost over and we are waiting for the appropriate moment to hit the screens". "Kalaprabhu is an intelligent director. He knows the knack of making commercial movies. His story is really awesome", adds the debutante.
