More news →"My performance in TASHAN has been appreciated" - Kareena Kapoor
Kareena Kapoor recently performed as the Goddess of Bollywood at the IIFA awards in Bangkok. Of course, she also bagged the best actress award for her power house performance in Jab We Met. The actress has bagged the maximum number of awards this year for Jab We Met. She is obviously excited about the superb reactions to her live performance that showed her making a grand entrance on a huge lotus. Kareena performed on three main songs apart from 'Dil Hara' and 'Chaliya' from Tashan. "My act ended with 'Mauja Hi Mauja' from Jab We Met," says Kareena smiling, "Manish designed some very colourful outfits. The entire act came across as very sexy and glamorous." Praising Manish, Kareena said, "He has worked very hard on my costumes. He sat with the organizers - Wizcraft - and meticulously worked a theme and costume for every song." Kareena also credits Shiamak Davar for her creative act. "Shiamak, who has created the act, has come up with a different color for every theme." Kareena has no regrets about Tashan bombing at the box-office. "My performance has been appreciated. In fact my look and style has started a trend of sorts and I am happy about that." And how does she feel about being the best actress of this year? "On the top of the world", beams Bebo.
Love Story 2050 v/s Tashan.....
The month of April was supposed to set the stage on fire as the dates of the two most awaited movies of the year, Tashan and Love Story 2050 were set to clash. While one film will see the hottest and the most talked about couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor along with Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor, the other is the debut of Harman Baweja opposite his good friend Priyanka Chopra. Both, Tashan and Love Story 2050 have been cushion-backed by mega bucks Aditya Chopra and Harry Baweja who have made sure that their respective films set the stage on fire. However, Love Story 2050 has been pushed further down by two months. For now the movie is set to release in the month of June which means Tashan will be the solo release on 25th April till any other producer decides to give it competition.
'SINGH IS KINNG' adds on to TASHAN
'Singh Is Kinng', among the most keenly anticipated titles of 2008, will reveal its first look on Baisakhi, April 13. The Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer releases worldwide on August 8. From Vipul Shah & Anees Bazmee, the hit makers of 'Namastey London', 'Waqt', 'No Entry' and 'Welcome', 'Singh Is Kinng' is a whopper of an action comedy about an adorable bumpkin from Punjab who ends up in Australia in a zany situation that he had never imagined ! The minute-long teaser of 'Singh Is Kinng', which will reveal superstar Akshay Kumar's stylish new Sikh get-up, will play across television channels from the following Sunday. The trailer will also play in cinemas worldwide from April 25, along with 'Tashan'. 'Singh Is Kinng' is an Indian Films - Studio 18 release.
Bebo's bikini shot creates 'tashan'
Bebo's super hot look in Tashan is bringing her super accolades. Everyone's been trying to copy Kareena's cool look in Tashan, just like it happened with Jab We Met earlier and of course, her never forgotten style icon appearance in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. She wowed everyone as Poo and now she's wowing everyone all over again as Pooja in Tashan. Her red hot look has caught the eye of the industry and endorsement wallahs alike and designer Aki Narula, the man behind the magic, is hounded by clients asking him to give them ' the Bebo look.' Everyone is raving about her va va voom hot bikini shot. Almost Hollywoodish in appeal a la a James Bond film, Bebo positively scorched the scene in her bikini shot. She can play the hottie and the girl next door effectively as proved by her in Tashan. And obviously Ms Kapoor is very thrilled with the response with fulsome praise for Aki Narula. "Words fall short to praise the kind of talent Aki has. He is one of the most talented designers we have. He is just fantastic and what he has done for me in this movie is commendable as he just changed my entire look; it is something that has never been seen before. I think the whole idea of keeping it very grunge and rugged for me has really worked because I don't think an Indian actress has really done that on screen before. We have all worked together as a team to give me a unique look. I particularly love Pooja's signature outfit - A white shirt with nice jeans and boots. I think I live in that always and that's my style mantra!" No wonder Bebo is our favorite style icon!
Waah! Kya 'TASHAN' Hai!?
Waah! Kya 'TASHAN' Hai!? How many times have you found yourself reciting this phase whenever someone stylish passes by or a stylish event takes place? One of the most commonly used idioms used for style, TASHAN - the film - is now getting ready to be unveiled. The first look of the film is out in a teaser shown with AAJA NACHLE, and but naturally one ends up saying - Waah! Kya 'TASHAN' Hai!? Reasons are aplenty. Not just the film stars superstar Akshay Kumar in the lead, it also boasts of a terrific cast in the form of Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. With each of these actors coming together for this Yash Raj Film which gives an impression of Sanjay Gupta meeting Tarantino (well, were they ever separate?), TASHAN looks like one helluva action ride that looks promising enough to blow the lid away. This is not all as the clincher comes in the form of Anil Kapoor's parting statement in the teaser - "First impresssssion iz the last impresssssion". Tells the tale?
