Vidya Balan may have taken critics across award organizations by her performance in Parineeta. She swept awards for her debut at Filmfare and Zee Cine Awards. Good news for her fans comes as she will soon be working with Pradeep Sarkar and heart throb Abhishek Bachchan on the next Yashraj film. The actress is on the most wanted list of the industry today. Sarkar was recently approached by the King Of Romance yash Chopra to make a film for his banner where Sarkar wants Balan and Bachchan junior to lead. Recently Sarkar had worked with Abhishek on a commercial where he seems to have discussed the idea and Abhishek seems to have liked it too. Yash Chopra is also keen on casting Balan for the lead. Sarkar has not spoken much about this in media as he is still scripting the film and it will be too early to talk about the project. Sarkar denies shelving his adaptation of Bankim Chandra novel Devi Chaudhrani. He is sure to make it sometime in future most probably with Vidya in the lead.
Vidya Balan in a comedy
Vidya Balan after signing a good number of serious and classic films is now going to be doing a comedy film with Deepa Mehta who recently was in the news for her film Water. Incidentally Deepa also has not done too many comedies in the recent past. This film gives both the ladies a break from serious films. The dates are still being worked out. Once everything is finalized the film tentatively titled, as Stella will hit the floors. Both the ladies as of now have hit off well. The rest is still to come, as Vidya is busy with her films with Sudhir Mishra and Rituparno Ghosh.
Vidya not in Mishra's film
Sudhir Mishra has been quite unlucky as his heroines keep walking out of his films. First it was Chitrangada leaving the film industry after Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisi and now it's Vidya Balan opting out of Sudhir's next film Bahut Nikle Mere Armaan. It has been reported that Vidya objected to certain aspects of the character of an actress from the 50s whose role she was supposed to play. Another reason is her date problem for Mani Ratnam's Guru and Rituparno Ghosh's Rahgeer. Vidya Balan without meeting Sudhir informed the producer Prakash Jha that she will not be working in the film. Sudhir is now skeptical about his film and may not start shooting for it before August. His other projects in the pipeline are Tera Kya Hoga Johnny where a little boy plays the title role and the story is about four characters that are in search of the boy.
Vidya Balan Dumps Mentor
Vidya Balan is making news. Her latest radio jockey avatar in 'Lage Raho Munnbhai' has been received extremely well. In fact, 'LRM' is all set to be one of the biggest hits of all time and may well overtake 'Krrish' in the race of this year's biggest blockbuster. After her ripe romance rumours with co-star John Abraham, Vidya has taken the biggest risk of her life by refusing mentor Pradip Sarkar's next with the Yash Chopra banner. Balan is citing the obvious 'date hassles' considering she has 'Eklavya', 'Salaam'e-ishq' and 'Guru' up for release besides the impending 'Chandramukhi'. But the friction between Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Pradip Sarkar is also one of the reasons for the distance between the two. Apparently Vinod is not pleased with Sarkar's decision to work in a production other than Vidhu Vinod Chopra Productions and Balan on a tight-rope had to opt for one of the two. She being a woman of the world opted for the producer who took a risk by signing her for three films when not even one of her films had been released. It is being said that Konkana Sen Sharma shall be fitting into Vidya's shoes for this biggie. Let's wait and watch what turn relationships swing in this Chopra's tug-of-war.
Vidya Balan to be seen in her first non-VVC film
So far Vidya Balan has been maintaining an excellent track record at box office. Her debut film 'Parineeta' did quite well when it released last year. She excelled in an author back role and was noticed by all those who matter. This was followed by 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' that is most critically acclaimed film this year and was also the highest box office grosser till last week before 'Dhoom 2' overtook its collections. Common factor between 'Parineeta' and 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' was Vidhu Vinod Chopra who had produced both the films. Now for the first time ever in her short film career so far, she would be seeing a release of a film that comes from a different production house. 'Guru' releases on 12th January which is a co-production of Mani Ratnam and G Srinivasan. So far, film's publicity has been centered on Abhishek Bachchan and to an extent Aishwarya Rai so far but not many are aware that Vidya has a small but an important part to play in this Mani Ratnam directed film. She plays the role of a handicapped girl who is confined to a wheel chair and is an admirer of Guru.
Vidya takes care of Mother Earth
Vidya Balan did not just add Bollywood Glamour to the event but also did her bit to create more awareness and contribute to the well being of our planet. On the eve of the world environment day on June 4, the actress became part of the initiative organized by LANXESS India and Save The Children India organization to make the earth greener by planting 100 tree saplings. Vidya's showbiz career is also flourishing like a fast growing sturdy young tree. The latest advertisements of the communication major Airtel in which she bagged the role opposite the south superstar Madavan was received well by the public and became the talk of the town. She was also chosen as the brand ambassador of the international electronics major Toshiba. She is the heroine of the B-Town's latest stud Shahid Kapoor in the acclaimed director Aziz mizra's latest film 'Kismat Konnection'. The homely looking Vidya recently signed a deal with the Bling Entertainment Solutions.The Talent and celebrity Management Company will now handle and give the required advice for all her endorsement contracts to be signed in the future. The upcoming actress who now looks more beautiful than ever before is going slow but very steady taking extra care in signing new projects with utmost care to preserve her fast rising star status.
