For the memorial of Dr.Rajkumar at the 2.5 acre land at Sri Kanteerava Studios the Karnataka government has set aside Rs.10 crores on the project says Kannada and Culture minister H.S.Mahdevaprasad on Thursday evening briefing the media at his chamber in Vidhana Soudha.
In 18 months time the Dr.Rajkumar memorial will be completed says the minister. The memorial will be having the life history of Dr.Rajkumar depicting his theatre and film career, exhibition, library etc. This will be on par with any national level memorials.
In the last Karnataka state budget Rs.3 crore has been announced for the memorial. Now this amount would be transferred to the Dr.Rajkumar Foundation that is in charge of the memorial construction. The Kannada and culture minister, information minister, Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar, literary personality Dr.Baraguru Ramachandrappa are the members of the Dr.Rajkumar foundation.
