Films with difference

In our effort to look at the successful movies of 2007, here comes another set of movies that had an unmistakable stamp of difference. These efforts were hailed for their uniqueness and fresh ideas. Here goes the brief analysis of those films:

Mozhi

Mozhi was a lovely and poetic fashion movie which was immensely satisfying to the viewers. This beautiful, straightforward, heartbreaking and refined tale of love and human values overcomes lots of hurdles and finally succeeds. Dialogue writer Viji lent charm to the dialogues throughout the film. Mozhi had made Jothika talk without tongue!

The movie which has truly touched the hearts, made you laugh, and think about life! The flick stole over everyone with its hallmark that is simplicity.
The movie rocked the screens and the box office for a long time.

Chennai 600028

Chennai 600028 is a youthful fun based clean family entertainer entertainment. And just when the ending looked so predictable, you are in for another slap stick surprise waiting for tickle your funny bones! With such a fast and catchy screen play and editing, it makes you stay glued to your seats even for the song sequences. Yuvan Shankar Raja's musical score is one of the highpoints of the movie.

The entire movie is centered on the Galli cricket and Mirchi Cup tournament! The film also went on
to become a blockbuster and garnered huge revenue at the box office! This is Venkat Prabhu's first boundary or do we call it a sixer?

Polladhavan

One of the two hits among the Deepavali releases this year from a new comer Vettri Maran. He has succeeded by making the screenplay racy and his realistic description of the under world of North Madras is really amazing too the core! setting of the shady bike robbery rackets does send chills down your spine. The non-linear narration and packaging style are unique. Danush suits well for the boy next door looks and has come out good in his efforts.

Cinematography by R. Velraj was another reason
for attracting the crowd. The film has been produced by 'Group Company', a new film production company in Kollywood. The movie was also puffed with a host of pre-release promos and hence made a mark as one among the best scripts of the year!

Oram Po

There's a healthy trend in Tamil films where too much emphasis is not laid on sentiment factor in the story these days. Debutant director duo Pushkar-Gayatri's 'Oram Po' belongs to this genre. For this auto ride, one can even pay above meter charges! The movie has just a wafer thin story line but, what lies between the wafers makes the taste of the movie. It is an eventful auto ride with unexpected twists, bumps, and ups which at last made the point to hit the Bull's eye.
