Star graph of 2007

The stars that make the Kollywood shine have always been in a healthy competition to be on top. 2007 witnessed intense fight among the top stars that made the entire year an exciting one. Here is a look at the fluctuations of the stars' position during the year.

Since the leading lights of Kollywood ' Superstar Rajini and Ulaganayagan Kamal ' are in a different league, it would be unfair to compare them with the other stars. So let us straightaway move to the younger lot.

Vijay

Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay, the undisputed king of box office has given a huge hit in Pokkiri but failed to recreate the magic in Azhagiya Tamil Magan. But his stardom and the amazing opening remain the same and any news on him invariably makes headlines in filmy pages.

So, the verdict on Vijay is that he is still the Numero Uno of the younger lot.

Ajith

For Ajith, it is a year of mixed fortunes. His 'Thiruppathi' directed by Perarasu bombed at box office. Even Ajith's guaranteed opening could not provide the film any saving grace. Then he had a moderate success in Kireedom but ended the year with high note with the amazing success of Billa

Suriya

Suriya too has tasted both success and failure. His Sillunu Oru Kathal pairing with his sweet heart Jyothika failed to kindle interest among the audiences. But later in the year, Suriya came up with successful Vel, which is the front runner among the Deepavali releases. The magical charm of Suriya remains intact.

Vikram

The case with the versatile star Vikram is different. He doesn't have a single release for the past two years. But the star has maintained his stardom despite these setbacks. The delay hasn't made the people indifferent towards the star. Instead, it has increased their anticipation. He hit the headlines with his new venture Kanthasamy.
