8 National awards to Karnataka

As many as eight national awards has fallen in to th kitty of KARNATAKA state in the just announced 54th national film awards in New Delhi.

The national integration Nargis Dutt award for Kallarali Hoovagi, best children film for 'Care of Footpath', best feature film Kada Beladingalu, best Tulu film 'Koti Chennaiah' and four awards for Konkani language film (Among the four recognised languages in Karnataka except Kodava language all the three languages got awards this time) 'Antarnad' is for the first time.

National acclaimed director T.S.Nagabharana and producer Madhu Bangarappa gets national integration award for Kallarali Hoovagi, child prodigy Master Kishen gets best direction award for children film Care of Footpath whereas his mother Shyjala Srikanth gets best producer award. These two are the Swarna Kamal awards.

The best feature film awards goes to Kada Beladingalu, the producers K.M.Veeresh, Siddalingaiah and B.S.Lingadevaru and director B.S.Lingadevaru receive the Rajat Kamal and cash prize of Rs.1 lakh.

The Tulu film 'Koti Chennaiah' directed by Anand P Raj and produced by R.Dhanraj gets Rajat Kamal and cash prize of Rs.1 lakh.

The four awards in the category of best child actor Divya Chahadkar, Aarti Anklekar Tikekarfemale playback singer, music direction and best feature film goes to Konkani film 'Antarnad' produced by Rajendra Talak Creations and directed by Rajendra Talak.

There were thirteen films in the 54 National film awards from three languages - Kannada, Konkani and Tulu.

The top grossers like Mungaru Male and Dhuniya of last year have not been considered in the popular category. The other films in the fray were Chaitra, Cyanide, Janapada, Masanada Makkalu, Ondhu Preethiya Kathe and Savira Mettilu.
