'Aa Dinagalu' audio released

Music maestro Ilayaraja's scoring for only two songs in the film 'Aa Dinagalu' (maestro has done the background score for this film) based on the novel of one of the producers of the film Agni Sridhar's 'Dadagiriya Dinagalu' audio was released in a packed hall on Sunday evening at GM Rejoyz auditorium in Bangalore. This is perhaps for the first time in the career of Ilayaraja that a female lyricist has written the title song for his film music that is sung by Vijay Yesudas and Nanditha. That is D. Sumana Kittur a journalist and one of the key persons in shaping up 'Aa Dinagalu'. After release of the album two songs were also screened on this occasion. The cinematography by H.C.Venu reminded of Balu Mahendra's camera work for the Kannada film 'Pallavi Anupallavi' (1983) that was directed by today's top Indian director Manirathnam.

Releasing the album of music maestro Ilayaraja's 'Aa Dinagalu' the popular music director of Kannada cinema Gurukiran disclosed that it was his ambition from the beginning of his career to sing in one of the films of Mr Ilayaraja but today I am blessed with an opportunity to release his album he said.

Coinciding with the title 'Aa Dinagalu' every speaker at the audio release function recalled the yesteryears experience and lauded the ability and knowledge of Agni Sridhar. It is only well known literary personality Maralusiddappa in his address pointed to the novel 'Dadagiriya Dinagalu' touching style of writing. Former KFCC president H.D.Gangaraj, Sa.Ra.Govindu, Abhimani Prakashana chairman T.Venkatesh, writer Indhudhar Honnapur, Kananakapura Srinivas, Agni Sridhar related their speech to the rowdy activities in the mid eighties in Bangalore. Anand Audio Mohan has blindly accepted the offer to release the album that is mainly because of maestro Ilayaraja. Then he came to know that there are only two songs in this film. A brief commentary of some characters is also included in the CD and cassettes of 'Aa Dinagalu' to utilize the space.

Intelligent director K.M.Chaitanya appreciating the wonderful background score of Ilayaraja disclosed that on his advice two songs have been included to give some relief for the audience from the flow of dramatic developments on the screen.
