Can I Have Your Mobile Number

'I am a writer who happens to be associated with films,' said Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt while kick-starting the proceedings at grand press conference organized to promote the latest film from the Bhatt camp titled 'Killer' at a suburban five star hotel in Mumbai. Starring Irfan Khan, Emran Hashmi and Nisha Kothari, 'Killer' is a rip off Tom Cruise thriller 'Collateral' that is releasing on 21st July. Bhatt, the sensitive citizen of Mumbai that he is, made sure that at 6.25 p.m. a two minute token silence was observed by all present to pay homage to those killed during the inhuman serial bomb blasts in Mumbai last Tuesday.

A deluge of television camera persons sprung into action to interview the stars the moment it was an open house. I tried my luck with Mr Bhatt himself but he excused by stating that he had a sore throat. While heartthrob Emran Hashmi clarified once and for all that he doesn't have any problems with his serial kisser image, oomph doll Nisha Kothari expertly handled a television producer who whispered to her: 'I am a producer with'Channel'.Can I have your mobile number.' She shut his lust quotient by giving a thousand watt smile: 'I am busy right now'.We will talk later if you are still there.' The poor man never looked back.

As for intense Irfan Khan, well, the moment I tried quizzing him about his other release of the week 'Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota' in front of three channel mikes poked into his nose, he told me that he would talk to me separately. Irfan kept his promise. It was very apparent that even though he is having the title role in 'Killer' he is more kicked about Naseer's 'Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota' where he is part of one of the four stories. He also talked about Mira Nair, Tabu and why he doesn't aspire for a national Award.
