Director Sanjay Ram is known for his movies on real-life incidents. His earlier films Thoothukudi and Adu Puli Aatam were based on the news which hogged headlines in the news papers.
He is all set to commence his next Moolakarai Pannaiyar, which is about the life of gangster Venkatesa Pannaiyar, who was killed in an encounter by the police a couple of years ago.
The story, screenplay, dialogues and direction are by Sanjay and Yugendran (son of Malaysia Vasudevan) making his debut as music composer.
Saravanan plays the title role in the movie.
Quite appropriate to the theme of the movie, the film would go to floors on 25 April at Thoothukudi. It was the place from where Venkatesa Pannaiyar started his life.
Sanjay Ram is confident that the movie would make it big, since people are familiar with the story.
