Asha Parekh is back on television after a long hibernation. She is best known for her teleserial on Star called Kora Kagaz starring Renuka Shahane. She also did serials for DD and Sahara. She does not wish to act anymore. She only intends to look after the behind the camera work as a producer.
She was recently approached to make a Gujarati version of a popular Kannada serial on ETV Kannada called Gupt Gamini. The show is really popular and has crossed 550 episodes.
Asha is making its Gujarati version for ETV Gujarati. The show will be called Akhanda Saubhagyavati. It goes on air today. The story is about two sisters who owing to certain circumstances become staunch enemies and the entire family suffers for them. The show will be lead by Rajlakshmi, Dharmesh Vyas and Sneha Desai.
Harshad Joshi will direct the show. Asha wishes to direct a Hindi film very soon. Incidentally Asha Parekh's first Gujarati film was also titled Akhanda Saubhagyavati. So life has come full circle for her.
