Big Bs Misquote Earns Him Backlash From Womens Group

musicmazaa reported in its story 'I want to be a granddad soon,' says Big B as to how a national news channel presented a story totally out of context. While merely replying to lyricist Sameer's statement that he would want his son to write lyrics for Abhishek's son one day, Mr Bachchan had stated in a lighter vein that he wants to rush home so that he can ask Abhishek to give birth to a son soon so that Sameer's son can write lyrics for him. The news channel continuously reported Big B's statement and totally ignored Sameer's comment.

Yesterday I was literally agitated to see another story on the same news channel as to how a women's group in Banaras had taken umbrage to Bachchan's statement as sexist. They chanted slogans against him proclaiming that how can the superstar be favorable to having a grandson and not a granddaughter. I could also see a smile on few of the women's faces as they raised slogans against Big B. It was obvious they were enjoying the attention showered on them by the news channel.

I must say Amitabh Bachchan is very tolerant of media and is very down to earth while interacting with them. I have personally seen him being very patient, civil and humorous with photographers and over zealous reporters during the events in Mumbai. It is really hitting below the belt by presenting him in such a disgraceful manner. I think Aamir Khan is right when he lambasted the media for being irresponsible, sensational and tabloidisation of news channels. Time to think guys? The day is not far when one of these channels will be battling a heavy duty suit case'.
