Earlier this week we had reported that Captain Vijayakanth who is also the leader of the opposition party in Tamil Nadu will be conducting a human chain protest seeking immediate Government action towards the prohibition of liquor in Tamil Nadu.
The veteran actor and thousands of his party members have been arrested by the police today as he went ahead with the protest despite the Police Commissioner of Chennai refusing to give the necessary permission for the same.
Vijayakanth’s wife Premalatha and brother-in-law Sudheesh who hold important positions in his party have also been arrested for taking part in the protest defying the police department’s order.
