Mamata well-known for her comic roles in various films died in a private hospital in Chennai on October 22 following a long fight with illness.
She made her debut in films with Bhoomi Kosam and was later seen as the leading lady in a couple of films. Her pairing with Raja Babu and Allu Ramalingaiah was very popular.
Over the years, she has been seen in various character roles. She was also busy giving dubbing.
Her last rites were performed in Chennai yesterday. As a mark of respect to her, dubbing theatres were closed on Tuesday in Chennai.
Movie Artists' Association (MAA) has expressed condolences over her death.
