After Mogudu and Paisa bombed, director Krishna Vamsi was at the rock bottom of his career. It is one of the worst phases of his career and he was struggling to make a comeback. While most of the heroes and producers have shunned to work with him, it's Ram Charan who dared to team up with him. The duo did collaborate for Govindudu Andarivadele, however the film wasn't successful as expected. Recalling it in a recent interview, Krishna Vamsi admitted that he has a guilt feeling and he'd certainly do a big film with Charan next year to come out of it and he assures the next film would be a big hit.
Expounding the whole story, Krishna Vamsi shared, "I have reluctantly called Charan assuming that he too wouldn't be interested to work with me at that point. But as soon I called, I got a call back from him in 10 minutes. I had told him I'd like to meet him and narrate a story. He asked me when I'd like to narrate. I said I'm free and ready to narrate anytime to which he said he'd get back. I got call in another 10 minutes whether I could come to Annapurna Studios where he was shooting for Yevadu.
Charan was suffering from fever and shooting for a song in rain. One could imagine how much irritating it'd be for him.""As soon as I met him in the caravan, he came and sat next to me and asked about its genre.
I said its family subject and I need 20 minutes to narrate it. Apparently, Charan was looking for such subject then. He called his manager (who had once worked under me) and asked him when he was free to listen to the story. His manager thought Charan was wanting him to escape from me and he was trying to say that Charan was busy. But Charan intervened and said he's free on Sunday in that week and asked him to Krishna Vamsi said he had thus narrated story to Charan and he liked the story.
"'When are you going to tell the story to Appa (Chiranjeevi)?' Charan asked me. And I said I'm ready. Then Chiranjeevi garu was Union Minister and I thought it'd take easily a month to get his appointment. But to my shocker, he asked me to meet in 2 days. When I met him, the first thing he told me was "I don't know what you had told to Charan. I don't know what you both have talked. But we're doing this film and now you start the story'. These words from Chiranjeevi garu gave me big boost."Since Charan gave him the much-needed break, Vamsi is of opinion that he couldn't do justice to it completely and he now wants to compensate it with his next film with Charan. Let's wait and see.
