Each year, Gollapudi Srinivas trust gives away an award in his memory. This year, it will be given to Aamir Khan, who has made his debut as a director with 'Taare Zameen Par'.
The same will be given to Aamir at a function to be held at Kamala Arangam on August 12.
The award has been given to various promising filmmakers from different languages. In the 12 years, that the awards have been given, they went to an English film, a couple of Malayalam films, among others.
The jury chairperson Singeetam Srinivasa Rao announced the same in Chennai recently.
