Kanika, who started with a bang in Five Star, had to wait for the right break. Though she played female lead in few movies, nothing could help her to establish a career in Kollywood.
Thankfully Varalaru revived her fortunes in Tamil cinema and she was back on track after the movie's success.
Kanika, who hosts a television game show besides appearing in a host of commercials, is now cast opposite Mammootty for Malayalam movie Pazhassi Raja.
A thrilled Kanika says, 'I am really happy to be part of a movie starring Mammootty. It is a historic film and I play a prominent role in it. The shooting commenced in Chennai (AVM Studios) and a major portion would be shot in Pazhassi in Kerala'.
