Mammootty's most recent release was White, which hit the theatres on July 29, 2016. Before White, he came up with Kasaba, which had the actor in the role of a police officer. Many did doubt the actor's crowd-pulling capability and he went on to silence all his critics with the film Kasaba.
Kasaba had a massive opening at the box office and grossed close to 2.48 Crores on the first day of its release. The film broke the record set by Dulquer Salmaan's Kali, which collected 2.34 Crores on its opening day. Mammootty's most recent release White, didn't have a good outing at the box office. The actor's next release is Thoppil Joppan and high hopes are pinned up on the movie as the actor would be back to 'achayan' roles with the film.
