The king of hilarious times

Ask any film lover, who is top hero from the late 1980's to the present time who has proved to be the number one in comic timings as a result of which Bollywood fans have been assured with a steady supply of flicks that will be remembered for the superb presentation of humour.

Whose name will be the right answer?

Obviously without any arguments, people will agree to one name- Govinda.

The super hit 'Partner' where Govinda teamed up with Salman Khan can be called as a comeback film for the senior performer after a long unproductive period in his acting career.

The actor himself has admitted that he became nervous just before the first shot involving him was shot.

Due the unique acting style and his skill in making people laugh just with his appearance on screen, even in this time when Bollywood is filled with hunks and a new craze for macho leading men and superheroes going strong, Govinda does not find it difficult to bounce back.

The comedy king being cast in the lead role of the Hindi remake of the Hollywood film 'The 40 Year Old Virgin' to be directed by Jagmohan Mundhra is the ample proof to show why he is still surviving in the highly competitive industry.

People can argue that because it is a story of a 40 year old virgin, Govinda must have been considered, but can anyone suggest another actor who will be able to fit in and carry off the role in the way this self made man can do?

Just like we cannot think of the hit Hollywood film 'Mask' without Jim Carrey, there are a lot of films that might not have been as good as they were and sometimes not even made if this actor was not there in Bollywood.

Govinda in the Hindi remake which is named as 'Excuse Me Please' has the company of Ayesha Takia and a French actress Lychiya Cats as his leading ladies.

With films like 'Do Knot Disturb' made by David Dhawan lined up, the all round actor is now gaining speed and strength to keep his exclusive space in B-Town safe and shining like the time when he ruled the box office with such films as 'Hero No.1' and 'Coolie No 1'.
