Remember producer K T Kunjumon? He was the producer of blockbusters like Gentleman, Kadhalan, Ratchagan, among others.
A fast track court in Chennai has granted an imprisonment for one year to Kunjumon besides imposing a penalty for Rs five lakh over a cheque bounce case.
It may be recalled that the producer suffered huge losses following the failure of his Ratchagan. Meanwhile, he borrowed over Rs 75 lakh from one L Suresh, a financier in Chennai, and produced Endrendrum Kadhal starring Vijay and Rambha in the lead roles.
The movie too did not do well at the box office. He managed to pay only a portion of the money that he had borrowed. The cheque that he gave for the rest of the money bounced putting him in a spot of bother.
Following a case filed against him, a court on Wednesday granted one year imprisonment in the case.
