Vairamuthu is a scholar par excellence. The man who made every Tamilian all around the globe proud with his literary works celebrated his birthday on Thursday.
The noted poet, lyricist and script writer, has considerable accomplishments that has earned him a distinct place in the larger arena of Tamil language and literature. Hailing from a small village called Vadugapatti village in Theni District, he has come a long way in coming out with short stories, poems, novels and thousands of songs.
Inspired by the works of eminent poets like Bharathi, Bharathidasan and Kannadasan, he developed a passion for Tamil. He made his film debut when he wrote lyrics for Bharathiraja's Nizhalgal. His compositions to date are nearing 4000. He received National award several times for the best lyricist besides accolades all around the globe.
