Senior actor Chandra Mohan, who has made a successful transition from a hero to a popular character artist, has chastised the young Tollywood heroes for not having any respect for senior artistes.
Speaking to media on the sidelines of an event in Eluru, Chandra Mohan said that he has been in the film industry for 50 years and that he has observed several deteriorating changes in the industry.
'Heroes of this generation think of themselves as legends like Sr NTR and Amitabh Bachchan and they show no respect to senior actors on sets. Movies have become circus shows with the overdose of fights, songs, forced comedy, adult content etc. It is hard to find a movie with situational comedy and enticing story,' the senior actor said.
'I have stopped signing movies as I don't like the kind of characters that are being offered to me these days,' he lamented.
It may be recalled that several senior artistes including Kota Sreenivasa Rao has in the recent times expressed similar anguish at the depleting standards in movies.
