Story:
An alright tale, the story begins with a group of thick friends, Pallan (lal) an advocate, Kichu (biju menon) a musician, Bava (sukumar) a chef, Roopesh (Suresh krishna) a junior artist, Babumon (Sunil Babu) a government employee. They are inseparable friends but heavy drunkards. A time comes when they decide to celebrate the New Year’s eve at John’s apartment. As usual, they just don’t care about the other residents and make their noise. But something goes wrong in this fun. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Presentation:
The director has come up with a decent storyline and while the presentation was good enough, the narrative was alright in parts. The dialogues were witty at few places, the script was average but the screenplay was not that good. The background score was suitable and songs can be passed. Cinematography was sufficient. Editing was required during the first half. Costumes were apt and natural while the art department was natural. Lal has excelled once again, Miya looks very beautiful and attractive, Suresh Krishna was standard but brought few smiles, Biju Menon was usual, Sunil Babu was adequate, Sukumar did his bit as required. The others didn’t have scope.
Conclusion:
Trying to bring in a group of talented actors and cooking up a shoestring budget flick doesn’t yield results. It is important to have a format that is entertaining and convincing. The first half in the film has literally nothing except the elements of jokes, some romance and other antics. It is only the second half wherein the plot picks up and has something to offer. At the box office, the film could be a below average grosser but the masses may like it to an extent for its flavor.
