Karthik Subbaraj directorial ‘Iraivi’ is easily one of the much anticipated films of 2016, which is going to storm into the silver screens by June, 3rd. The songs and teaser videos of this multi-starrer flick have been phenomenally getting positive responses. And now, the team ‘Iraivi’ has initiated a new way of promotion. 500 auto-rickshaws in Chennai will play the film’s trailer and songs. This is sure a novel idea of promoting a film, and Karthik Subbaraj as usual stands out for his creativity. The film starring Vijay Sethupathi, Anjali, Bobby Simha, S.J.Suryah, Kamaline Mukharjee and others has been produced by C.V.Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainments banner.
'Iraivi' to be released by a new big player in Chennai
Director Karthik Subbaraj's 'Iraivi' is all set to hit the screens this Friday. There is a tremendous pre-release buzz about the project as Karthik has given two back to back super hits and this is his third film. The multi-starrer cast of the film that includes Vijay Sethupathi, Anjali, Bobby Simha, SJ Suryah and Kamalini Mukharjee is also the reason for the phenomenal expectations surrounding the film. As we had reported earlier 'Iraivi' has been produced by C.V.Kumar under the Thirukumaran Entertainments banner. K.E.Gnanavel Raja of Studiogreen and Abinesh Ilangovan of Abi & Abi are involved in the worldwide distribution of the film. Now another leading corporate house has entered the fray as distributors of 'Iraivi'. Abinesh has confirmed that Jazz Cinemas has joined the distribution cycle of 'Iraivi' and they will be releasing the film in Chennai. He has also said that he expects at least 300 screens in Tamil Nadu alone for the film. With this, Jazz Cinemas is expected to make strong inroads in Tamil Tinsel world. They recently acquired a multiplex located in a swanky mall in Velachery, Chennai. They are also reported to have involved in the Chennai city distribution of Thala Ajith's blockbuster 'Vedalam' that released in November 2015 but there was no official confirmation on this
Iraivi heroine excels in Hollywood Theater Festival
Pooja Devariya, the actress well known for her films like Mayakkam Enna, Iraivi etc is a well known theater artist. She has now been awarded the 'Emerging Artists Award' at the Short and Sweet Theatre Festival’s Hollywood edition in Los Angeles, the largest short theatre festival in the world. The excited actress has posted on facebook "Ah, so this happened :) Mathivanan and I won the 'Emerging Artists' Award at The Short Sweet Theatre Festival in Hollywood" "Short Sweet is the World's biggest small play festival. IRAIVI, KABALI MAGIC TO REPEAT AGAIN IN BAIRAVAA!
Vijay's first film, 'Naalaiya Theerpu' released on 4th December 1992, and it has been 24 years since the talented actor made his foray into K-town. Bairavaa, his 60th film, directed by Bharathan, has music by Santhosh Narayanan. The Kabali composer tweeted, "Congrats @actorvijay on 24 years in the industry! Pure magic when #singerananthu and #Ilayathalapathy came together for 2 explosive songs." Ananthu is known for his magical voice in songs such as Maya Nadhi (Kabali), Jagadhamma (Kaashmora), Manidhi (Iraivi) and many other hit numbers.
