More news →Thaman's tune from 'Boys' in 'Kathai Thiraikkathaia'
One of the earliest tunes of southern composer S.S. Thaman has been used in upcoming Tamil comedy "Kathai Thiraikkathai Vasanam Iyakkam". Playback singer Haricharan Seshadri along with three actors and a filmmaker has crooned this song called "Live the Moment". Actors Nakul, Shantanu Bhagyaraj, Premgi Amaren and filmmaker Venkat Prabhu have also lent their voices for it. "Thaman called me one day and asked me to come to his studio. He said we were going to record a song which I have known for many years. He then reminded of a song he leisurely composed during the filming of 'Boys' and said he was going to use it in this film. I can't say no to Thaman, so I recorded it," Nakul said.. Filmmaker S. Shankar directed the 2003 Tamil film "Boys". Thaman and Nakul debuted as actors in the film alongside actor Siddharth. "While working on 'Boys', Shankar sir had asked Thaman to compose a song. He composed it and we even recorded it featuring my voice as well as Siddharth's. The tune of that song with different lyrics and packaging has been used in this film," he added. "It was fun because it was a song we had already enjoyed composing and singing. Since it features the voice of other actors as well, it was even more fun to record it," Nakul said. While Thaman has composed "Live the moment", three other tracks in the film's album have been composed by Vijay Anthony, Alphons Joseph and Sharreth. Directed by R. Parthepan, the film features an ensemble cast of Santosh, Akhila Kishore, Dinesh, Sahithya Jagganthan, Thambi Ramaiah, Arya, Vijay Sethupathi, Amala Paul and Taapsee Pannu in important roles.
Ashwin Kakumanu in Ithu Vedhalam Sollum Kathai
Rathindran R Prasad, director of 'Kodaikanal won't' music video is starting his full-length Tamil feature film starring Ashwin Kakumanu and Guru Somasundaram titled Ithu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai. This Feature film will be produced by Basak Gaziler Prasad of Whole Wide World films who produced his earlier short film. The film is going to be a travel adventure based on Indian mythological characters. Music director Ghibran has started composing tracks for the film last month. A famous Hollywood wrestler and actor Greg Burridge will be playing the villain and choreographing action sequences. Italian cinematographer 'Roberto Zazzara' has been roped into the project. Crew is right now set to start their first schedule in Chambal Valley in Madhya Pradesh. Greg Burridge would be starting to train Ashwin Kakamanu along with 30 local Indian wrestlers for the action sequences. A Bangkok based company has started their initial prep for the VFX of this film.
Kathi Sandai goes grandeur
Vishal's Kathi Sandai has already been announced as a Diwali treat. The latest we hear is that the team has spent lavishly on the songs and fights. Huge sets have been erected for a dance number while the stunts are choreographed by Kanal Kannan, Thalapathy Dinesh and Action Ganesh. Directed by Suraj, this film is expected to be a comedy entertainer. It stars Soori and Vadivelu in important roles. Tamannah is playing the female lead opposite Vishal and the film has Hiphop Thamizha's music.
Kathi Sandai complete Georgian schedule
The Kathi Sandai team, including Vishal and Tamannaah, was in Georgia to shoot an important song sequence. We hear that the shoot has been completed and the team is back in the city. Scheduled for a Diwali release, the team working on a rapid pace to finish the work on time. Directed by Suraaj, Hip Hop Thamizha is the music director.
'Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai' attachment with 'Theri'
As we had reported earlier, the teaser of G.V.Prakash's 51st musical 'Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai' has been released today. The film is the Tamil remake of Malayalam super hit 'Thattathin Marayathu' and it has been directed by Mithran R.Jawahar. The film stars Walter Philips and Isha Talwar in lead roles. Now we learn that the teaser is being screened in theaters screening Ilayathalapathy Vijay's grand Tamil New Year attraction 'Theri'. Interestingly 'Theri' musical score is by G.V.Prakash and that is his 50th film. 'Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai' has been produced by Sangili Murugan and it will be released in theaters by Kalaipuli.S.Thanu the producer of 'Theri'.
Vishal's Kathi Sandai to be shot in Georgia
Director Suraj’s Kathi Sandai features Vishal and Tamannaah and is fast gearing up to reach the finish line. Production side of Kathi Sandai reveals that the film will be a Diwali release. It is also stated by the production side that this film is the costliest of Vishal’s films till date. Vadivelu and Soori take charge of humor. Art director Umesh Kumar has erected magnificent sets for song sequences and also action blocks. The unit is currently shooting in Chennai where they will work for two more days. The team will also be flying to Georgia after the 18th August where two songs will be canned. It has to be noted that Thala 57 team is right now shooting in Bulgaria but Georgia is also there in their shooting schedule in the coming days. Once the Kathi Sandai team is back from their overseas trip, they are stated to be shooting in Madurai for five days for a flashback scene.
