Puli Varudhu, the film with Jithan Ramesh in the lead role, started rolling today. This film is directed by GV Kumar and presented by Antony for ELK Productions, the banner which made Manadhodu Mazhaikalam. Music for this film is by Srikanth Deva and C Rajasekaran cranks the camera.
Puli to release on Vijay's Birthday
Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Hansika, Sridevi, Shruti Haasan, Sudeep and others starring Puli is said to hit the screens on 22nd June as Vijay's Birthday treat to fans. Fans of Vijay who have recently celebrated the blockbuster Kaththi 100 days will surely go crazy with the news. Being helmed by Chimbudevan, Puli is tipped to be an adventurous fantasy thriller that casts Vijay in triple roles as cartoonist, commando and one more. Hansika will be seen as princess, while Sridevi is playing her mother role. Puli team is currently shooting in Thalakona. Devi Sri Prasad is rendering music for this SKT Studios production film. Puli audio launch is expected to happen in mid April or May.
Puli First Look Released!
Wishing the Tamil superstar Ilayathalapathy Vijay on his 41st Birthday, makers have released the first look of his upcoming film 'Puli'. Birthday Boy Vijay looks stunning as price with fierce eyes in the Puli first look. Directed by Chimbudevan under SKT Studios banner, Puli is a socio-fantasy film that is undergoing post-production works. Hansika, Shruti Haasan, Sridevi, Sudeep and others are part of this Vijay starrer. Devi Sri Prasad has composed music. Meanwhile, Vijay is expected to join his untitled Atlee directorial, tentatively titled as Vijay 59 by the end of June.
Puli Teaser breaks the record
Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Puli teaser has break the records. After Vikram-Shankar's I trailer overtook Kaththi's fastest 1 million views record, Puli went beyond them by receiving over 2 million views within 2 days of release. Directed by Chimbudevan, Puli first look and teaser were released yesterday [June 22], on the occasion of Vijay's 41st Birthday. Puli teaser captivated fans of Vijay and Tamil cinema lovers, equally and are eagerly waiting for the movie. Shibu Thameens has produced Puli on SKT Studios banner with the likes of Hansika, Shruti haasan, Sridevi, Sudeep, etc. Devi Sri Prasad composed Puli songs will be out in July by Sony Music, while the movie is slated for September release for Vijayanagar Chaturthi.
Puli' makers lodge complaint over leaked stills
The makers of super star Vijay-starrer Tamil fantasy drama “Puli” have lodged a police complaint against a few miscreants who are said to have leaked online a few stills from the movie. “We have filed a complaint with city police commissioner S. George. He has assured us that those responsible for the leak will be nabbed very soon,” the film’s director Chimbudeven told. “We had planned to officially release these stills. But somehow they were leaked without our knowledge,” he said. Said to be made on a lavish budget, the film also stars Bollywood diva Sridevi, Hansika Motwani, Shruti Haasan and Sudeep in important roles. Earlier, the first teaser was leaked online hours before its official release. “The person responsible for the teaser leak was arrested a few hours later. He was working as an intern at the studio where the film’s teaser was cut,” he added. The film, which is likely to be released in Telugu and Hindi, is slated to hit the screens in September.
'Puli' Roars heavily and Soars High
Arguably, Ilayathalapathi Vijay’s ‘Puli’ is the most anticipated movie of the year, because of the hype, cast, and obviously the budget. Team ‘Puli’ had struck gold with the minute long teaser already. What do we get now with the theatrical trailer? We get to understand that the imaginary world or the period setup is dark, and the people are looking for a savior. The trailer does launch Vijay as the savior with a caption, ‘Ray of Hope’. Apart from throwing a glimpse about the storyline, Chimbu Thevan and his team had offered loads of surprises in the form of dwarfs, a huge palace in CG, a showdown with a mysterious bull like figure, fight sequences, the romantic portions with Shruthi, and a trademark punch dialogue from Ilayathapathi to appease his mass followers. But for some reason, The much talked princess Hansika’s portion comes in just two frames and it is more of a blink and miss section. Probably, that is where the surprise is. Vijay is sporting a long hair for a change and rides a horse at the end of the trailer. Like this there are multiple wow moments in the 100 second trailer, and may this be a real game changer for Vijay and his fans to be proud up. At the end of the day, this ‘Puli’ promises to make a loud noise at the box office.
