It seems our pretty lass Aishwarya Rai is in a fix due to date trouble. Hollywood actor Will Smith has signed her for his upcoming movie and wants dates from her for three months starting from July this year. And this is the time she has already committed to Ashutosh Gowarikar for his movie Jodha Akbar. The buzz is that Aishwarya asked Gowarikar to delay the shoot but he is unable to do so because then he needs to get new dates from Hrithik Roshan. So if Will Smith doesn't delay his film it will be a great loss for Aishwarya.
Aishwarya's The Mistress Of Spices releases 21 April
The Mistress Of Spices, a movie directed by the debutant Paul Mayeda Berges and produced by Deepak Nayar and Gurinder Chadha is all set to release simultaneously in UK and India on April 21. The movie stars Aishwarya Rai, Dylan McDermott, Nitin Ganatra and Padma Lakshmi. This is quite a talked about film as Aishwarya and Gurinder are once again coming together for a film after Bride and Prejudice.
Aishwarya back in action after Guru injury
After getting injured while shooting for Khakee, its second time that Aishwarya is hurt. She was in Badami in Karnataka shooting for Mani Ratnam's Guru last Friday when the accident occurred. According to sources, the shooting had finished for the day when Aishwarya still in her costume was riding a vintage bicycle. The cycle got stuck in a pothole and she fell down with heavy injury on her fingers. The locals got her a tetanus injection and she is now back in action for her shoot as she has to wrap up the shoot by 15 May after which she will be leaving for Cannes.
Aishwaryas Father Undergoes Surgery
Aishwarya Rai has a close bond with her family. It's a close knit unit. And they've always stood by her in her time of need. The ties of blood went through a testing time recently when Ash's father Krishnaraj Rai complained of uneasiness on August 3rd. The family rushed into action and within no time, Rai senior was being taken care of by a battery of doctors at the Hinduja Hospital. But what Ash had not anticipated was that within no time her father would have to undergo a serious three hour surgery. It is reported that Aishwarya Rai was a picture of composure as she saw her father wheeled into the operation theatre. She wished her papa all the best. Breaking the conventions, she didn't cry or break down in spite of the growing uncertainties. Good friend Abhishek Bachchan visited the hospital at night and took control of the entire situation. Amitabh Bachchan visited the hospital yesterday to extend his support. Aishwarya plans to visit Siddhivinayak Temple once her father gets out of the hospital.
Aisa Des Hai. First TV serial shot at Taj Mahal
Manish Goswami, head honcho of Siddhant Cinevision has added another feather in his cap, by making 'Aisa Desh Hai Mera' the first television show to be shot at the Taj Mahal, Agra! Rusty aka Saumya Tandon and Samay aka Gaurav Chopra, celebrate their honeymoon by visiting the splendidly beautiful monument of love, and make each other vows to never let their love die. The episode which will be aired on the 28th and the 29th, will be a romantic's wish come true, with quite a few amorous scenes being shot in and around Taj Mahal. Well, talking about the entire idea of shooting in the Taj, Manish Goswami further says, 'The show is about love, and what better place to emphasise this concept than the very symbol of romance, our Indian heritage and seventh wonder of the world, the Taj Mahal! Everybody who is in love knows the aura of the TAJ atmosphere so we decided to have this as the backdrop to Rusty and Samays' blossoming love. As the title suggests Aisa Desh Hai Mera! Overall the experience was really very good!'
Aishwaryas French Connection
After featuring in numerous English and Hindi films, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has now extended over to foreign language cinema. Pretty lady Ash will soon be seen in the French film Asterix at the Olympics. The film that stars one of French cinema's most versatile actor Gerard Depardieu will be screened in Mumbai at the upcoming French Film Festival. The film is touted to be the most expensive European film at 93 million dollars. The film has been extensively shot in Tunisia and Morocco. The film will also see the likes of Formula one champ Michael Schumacher, soccer star Zinedine Zidane and Hollywood action star Jean Claude Van-Damme. Ash's role has been kept under wraps but sources suggest that Ash has bagged a special role in a film that doesn't have any female lead character.
