Superstar Rajinikanth's forthcoming film Lingaa is taking fast shape in the hands of director KS Ravikumar. The ace filmmaker is said to have completed maximum talkie portions and remaining with climax and couple of songs to be caned in overseas probably Europe. However, makers are yet to decide on the exact foreign locations. Rockline Venkatesh producing Rajinikanth's Lingaa is being shot in Karnataka and this schedule will be wrapped up by next week. After a short break, Lingaa team will head to Shimoga for climax shoot for 10 days. Lingaa audio by AR Rahman will be out for Diwali and the film will be released on December 12th.
Lingaa Audio Release Date Announced
Superstar Rajinikanth's Lingaa is one among the most anticipated Tamil films in 2014. The audio album of the movie will be launched on 9th of November. Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin who is heading Eros Now in South India bought the Lingaa audio rights and has officially confirmed the Lingaa audio launch date. Lingaa will be their second music album after Vijay's Kaththi. KS Ravikumar has directed Lingaa with the likes of Anushka, Sonakshi Sinha, Santhanam, Karunakaran and others. Trisha has done a special song in the movie. Kannada producer Venkatesh has bankrolled Lingaa on Rockline Entertainments banner. Rocking music scores from AR Rahman are anticipated in November.
Lingaa Censored, Release date Confirmed
Superstar Rajinikanth’s Lingaa has completed the censor formalities with a clean U certificate from the board. Venkatesh's Rockline Entertainments produced KS Ravikumar directed Lingaa has been submitted to censor board on Monday and the team has given it a clean chit after watching the movie thoroughly. Eros International who hold Lingaa rights had confirmed the same and their Southern head Soundarya Rajinikanth announced the Lingaa release date as 12-12-14 in her official Twitter page. Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha played the female lead roles in Lingaa that also casts Santhanam and Karunakaran in the important roles. AR Rahman's music is already topping the charts. Lingaa will be released in 3000 screens across the globe on this December 12th.

Superstar Rajinikanth's Lingaa advance booking started in the multiplexes all over the world and the tickets have been sold out within an hour for the opening weekend. After 14 years, the superhit Padayappa combo of KS Ravikumar and Rajinikanth is back with Lingaa. The movie is releasing with huge expectations also for its leading cast and crew including Anushka, Sonakshi Sinha, AR Rahman, DOP: Rathnavelu, Stunt: Lee Whittaker, Editor: Samjith Mhmd, Santhanam and others. Lingaa is releasing in almost all the theaters in Tamil Nadu on Thalaivar Birthday, 12th December, 2014 in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. Lingaa is Top 2 in USA
Recently released, Superstar Rajinikanth's Lingaa has emerged as the highest grosser among the big Tamil releases in USA. According to the reliable sources from US, Lingaa is in top 2nd position only next to the Thalaivar's own Enthiran directed by Shankar. KS Ravikumar directed Lingaa has collected 806,190 USD in just two days and the overall first weekend gross is reported to be 1.37 million USD (8.6 crores INR) including the premiere and the Telugu dubbing shows. It is known that Lingaa is opened to mixed reviews and low ratings from critis. Hence, it is to be observed that if Lingaa ends up being highest grosser beating Enthiran collections. Anushka, Sonakshi Sinha, Santhanam, Karunakaran, Jagapathi Babu played the other important roles in Lingaa, an AR Rahman musical.
'Lingaa' distributors may protest again
A group of distributors of Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil film "Lingaa", which resulted in heavy losses, may protest again if the remainder of the amount that was promised to them is not settled in a week's time. Following initial protests, Rajinikanth had agreed to pay back Rs. 12.5 crore. However, distributors claim only Rs.6 crore was handed over to them as part of compensation. "Distributors who had purchased the movie on minimum guarantee have not been compensated. Hence, we want Rajinikanth sir to intervene and settle this issue within a week, failing which we will again protest in front of his house," distributor Singaravelan told. He added that only Rs.6 crore of Rs.12.5 crore compensation has been settled and that nobody knows what happens to the rest. Now, the distributors are demanding Rs.15 crore more as compensation. Distributor Tiruppur Subramaniam, who was entrusted with the responsibility of compensating other distributors by Rajinikanth, says the actor has done what he could afford. "We're waiting for funds from the film's producer Rockline Venkatesh, who had promised to share the losses with Rajinikanth," he said. Directed by KS Ravi Kumar, "Lingaa" features Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles.
