Producer Editor Mohan also spoke. He was accompanied by his sons Jayam Raja and Jayam Ravi. Jeeva the up and coming actor of the generation was the cynosure of all eyes. Pori, fast progressing

Pori, which has Jeeva and Pooja playing the lead roles, is fast progressing. Subramanya Siva who gave us a massive hit earlier with Thiruda Thirudi, is directing this flick, which is produced by Sambandham Karthi under the banner Nivi-Pavi Creations. Veteran actor Nagesh plays Jeeva's father in the film. Dheena, who scored the music for Thiruda Thirudi, is taking care of music for this film too. It looks like one can look forward to some racy, foot tapping numbers! NK Ekambaram's cinematography is said to be another highlight of the film. Speaking about the film, Subramanya Siva said, 'Good natured Samaritans never lose in the game of life. If someone does lose, then it simply means that they aren't, after all, good-natured. This is what Pori talks about.' Speaking further on the film, he said, 'Romance, action, dance, celebrations, smiles, tears and amidst all these, a significant message-this is what Pori is all about.' Will Pori release for Pongal?

With Jeeva's E, released during Deepavali, doing good business at the box 'office , all efforts are on to complete Jeeva's Pori and release the movie for this Pongal to cash in on the new-found image for the actor among the fans. Pori is directed by Thiruda Thirudi Subramanya Siva and features Pooja opposite Jeeva. A major portion of the movie was completed. Says Subramanya Siva, 'We are optimistic of Pongal release. The movie has all commercial ingredients including dance, romance, songs, comedy and action. Value for money would be Pori, and Jeeva plays a dare-devil youth in the movie.' Endorsing the director, Jeeva says, 'We have completed the shooting and the post-production works are on, to facilitate an early release. Hopefully we will release it this Pongal.' 'Music by Dheena would be a highlight,' says the director. A couple of peppy numbers typical to Manmadharasa in Thiruda Thirudi finds a place in the movie.

Jeeva confident of Poris success

After a success in E, Jeeva is hopeful that Pori would make it big among the audience. 'Unlike E, which dealt on a serious subject, my Pori would be a typical commercial entertainer sure to entertain the film-buffs,' he said. Pori, directed by Thiruda Thirudi fame Subramanya Siva, features Pooja opposite Jeeva. The shooting commenced six months ago. 'After Thiruda Thirudi, I wanted to come out with a commercial entertainer. Pori would be a different movie which would be entertaining all through,' he said. Echoing the same, Pooja said, 'The director extracted a lot of work from me. I have more scope to act in the movie. There are a couple of peppy numbers and to dance for them was a big challenge. They have all come out well. I am hopeful that the movie will become a big hit.' Jeeva, on his part, said, 'After E, I wanted a light film. Pori has comedy and action in the right mix. It is a movie which would take me closer to the front-benchers.'

Dad suggested me to do 'Andhra Pori Puri Akash

Actor Puri Akash, who is making his acting debut in the forthcoming Telugu teenage love story "Andhra Pori", says he always wished to be launched by his filmmaker-father Puri Jagannath, who didn't quite agree with his son. "I've always wished to be launched by my father. I wanted to be launched as a hero in one of his films. But he suggested that I do 'Andhra Pori' as he felt it suited my age and wanted me to experience everything on my own," Akash told. Without much hesitation, Akash took his father's advice. In "Andhra Pori", a Telugu remake of Marathi hit "Time Pass", Akash plays a Class 10 dropout. "I had to pick up on Telangana accent. I essay a massy village dweller. To get my dialect right, I underwent a week-long workshop and it really helped me to champion the language," he said. Calling his film an "audience-friendly" teenage love story, Akash said the romance in the film is "clean". "The story is about two teenagers and their first crush. There's romance but it's not portrayed the way our cinema usually does. There's innocence in the romance between the lead characters in the movie," he said. Akash says he's not in a hurry to sign more films. "Post 'Andhra Pori', I'll take a few years break and complete my formal education; go to college and earn a degree. Then, I'll decide on my future. I'll take it slow," he said.
