AVM Productions would celebrate the centenary year of its founder A V Meiyappan beginning 28 July, 2006.
Endowment lecture would be conducted besides a grand function being organized at South India Film Chamber Chennai, in which the statue of A V Meiyappa Chettiyar would be unveiled by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on 30 July.
Born on 28 July, 1907, Meiyappa Chettiyar's contribution to the Tamil film industry has been immense.
His brainchild AVM Productions has completed 60 years and has so far churned 167 films in different languages.
