After Udta Punjab, A Malayalam director fights the Censor Board now

You would be aware of the controversial clash between the filmmakers and the censor board for the bollywood film Udta Punjab. Now we got to hear a similar happening in Malayalam cinema industry.A group of film directors and technicians from FEFKA have staged protest in front of the CBFC office in Thiruvananthapuram, for proposing numerous cuts and denying to certify the film Kathakali, which has already earned praises at several International film festivals.Kathakali directed by Saijo Kannanaikkal will show the protagonist walking naked after shedding his Kathakali costume.

The censor board has asked to cut this scene, which the makers claim to be main essence.A censor board official said "We have followed the certification rules. We had issued a notice after examining the film. They neither responded to it nor went for an appeal. They went straight to the public and media."
