Bollywood star Aamir Khan was in Chennai on Saturday to give away the coveted Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial award for best debut director to I Mohan Krishna for his Telugu movie Grahanam at a grand function.
Speaking on the occasion, the Bollywood star stressed the need for encouraging fresh talents.
Heaping praises on Gollapudi family for instituting an award that encourages new talents, Aamir Khan said determination and dedication will help everyone achieve better things in their profession.
Actress Shobana was also present.
The event witnessed some commotion as a group of young people raised slogans against Aamir Khan who was presiding over the function as the chief guest. The youngsters all in their early twenties shouted against the actor, as they wanted him to take a stand on the colas-pesticide issue. Aamir Khan is a brand ambassador for a popular company.
