'Super'star Hrithik Roshan is of the opinion that his forthcoming Krrish could well be the birth of Superhero genre in the Indian Film Industry. He along with his father Rakesh Roshan was speaking at the press briefing that was organized for unveiling the 'Krrish' merchandise. This much-looked-forward-to sequel of 'Koi Mil Gaya' has tied up with Pantaloons for merchandise retailing. Through the tie up with Pantaloons, Roshans would like to create a 'demand' for their product and also instill a love that's normally associated with products like those of Superman, Batman and Spiderman.
According to Roshan junior, 'Krrish' as a concept is on the lines of any other superhero story be it Spiderman or Superman. Although he claims that the father-son duo were not 'inspired' by any of those in particular but similarity will obviously exist. Hrithik Roshan hasn't had a release since 'Lakshya' one and a half years ago. The expectations are tremendous. With 750 prints, it is all set to be the biggest release in India ever. Whether the hype lives up to the expectations will be out soon. Over to the D Day: 23rd June, 2006!
