Tollywood is familiar with the news that popular actor and producer Murali Mohan was elected as the President of Movie Artists Association (MAA) in the elections held recently to from a new committee. The association felicitated the directors and producers of National Award winning films 'Hope', 'Kamli' and 'Kittu', today on 22nd September, at their office in Film Chamber. On the same dais, senior artist Mukku Raju received a benefaction from the association.

On this occasion Dr.Dasari Narayana Rao conveyed his best wishes to the new committee of MAA. He suggested to the members of MAA, to pool up a fund towards economically helping the needy senior artists. Also put forth an urge upon the acclaimed stars to lend a helping hand to support the association. He advised the association to yield about 10 Crores of funds to make a deposit, and to deliver the earned interests to help the needy artists.
Dr Dasari also recalled, "MAA was born thousands of feet above while flying, the idea of MAA occurred to us during an air travel. Chiranjeevi was the first president of MAA and I am the person who made the suggestion for him to be the president. I shall always be in touch with the association. I am always ready to help them eagerly."
Murali Mohan, Kota Srinivasa Rao, AVS, Jayasudha, Ashok Kumar, Shivaji Raja, Kadambari Kiran Kumar, Ahuthi Prasad, Chitti Babu, Mukku Raju and others were present on this occasion.
