With Sarath Kumar all set to be elected unanimously as the president of the Nadigar Sangam, the buzz was that Nepolean would be urged to contest for the general secretary's post of the sangam. However Nepolean on Wednesday made it clear that he would not contest any elections in the Nadigar Sangam for he is pre-occupied with his political activities and film commitments.
With a firm no by Nepolean, efforts are now on to convince actor and former AIADMK MLA Radharavi to contest for the general secretary's post. A few actresses including Vindhya, Kovai Sarala and Simran might be elected as executive committee members.
A section of artistes see this as an attempt by the AIADMK to hijack the activities of the Nadigar Sangam.
Meanwhile the unanimous election of noted producer-director and DMK man Rama Narayanan as the president of Tamil Film Producers Council has meant the DMK seizing control over TFPC.
Due to the politics making in roads into the film associations, there is a fear that film industry might get polarized.
