Record Deal For Hindi Bahubali?

After the unbelievable deals clinched by the makers of 'Baahubali 2' for overseas and Nizam distribution rights, here comes a much bigger deal in terms of revenue and scale. As per latest reports, the Hindi satellite rights of 'Baahubali' have been acquired by Sony TV by shelling out over Rs 51 crores.

This is a never before seen or for that matter never before imagined price for the satellite rights of a dubbed film. In comparison, Salman Khan's latest worldwide blockbuster 'Sultan' was sold to the same Sony TV for Rs 50-52 crores. The deal of 'Baahubali 2' is heard to be Rs 1-2 crore higher than that of Sultan's. Beating the highest grossing film of Salman Khan in his own backyard is a true sensation. This clearly explains the craze for this VFX epic being carved out by ace Telugu film director SS Rajamouli.

For further comparison, the Hindi satellite rights of 'Baahubali' first part were acquired by the same entertainment channel for a paltry sum of Rs 15-18 crore.Kara Johar is releasing 'Baahubali 2' across the North and the film is expected to rake in record moolah at box office as well. Trade analysts predict that 'Baahubali 2' has the potential to become the first Rs 1000 crore grossing Indian film if it can offer at least the same magnitude of visual brilliance that was provided by the first part.
